Good golly can UC Davis get a holding call their way? Crazy play after play the announcer is like "well they could have called holding there"...

UCD gets a gift and can't cash it in. Man, if they had only hit one more field goal or had gotten that wide open two-point attempt.

Learning how to win. Look at us, do we ever seen to be able to step on the throat and finish someone off. No, we let them stay in the game. We pulled one out, when it looked like they could take charge several times.

Your statement wasn't only about yesterday. MSU has most definitely been able to finish teams off in the past, last year's playoff wins over Sam Houston and SDSU as great examples.allcat wrote: ↑Sun Sep 25, 2022 5:30 amApparently you disagree with my statement regarding yesterday.

Both UC Davis and Weber looked pretty dang good, we'll have to play better to beat each of them.
Robbi Hauck set some record for tackles yesterday in their game against PSU. He also ran back a failed field goal for a touchdown. Interestingly and to no one's surprise he was also credited with a tackle on the play.

Considering the adversity from numerous injuries the Bobcats found a way to win, yet "we pulled one out" . I'll take that gutsy short handed victory every time, and until we get to November that might just be how we roll. Fortitude also teaches you how to win.MSU01 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 25, 2022 6:56 amYour statement wasn't only about yesterday. I mean did we feel like we were going to beat the world with some of our nail-biters last year. Just gotta get on a roll at the right time.Bobcatsinmso wrote: ↑Sun Sep 25, 2022 9:52 amConsidering the adversity from numerous injuries the Bobcats found a way to win, yet "we pulled one out" . Re: Around the FCS Today 9/24
I'm not sure how to feel about that game. Weber looked like a juggernaut on offense early but could barely sustain anything later. UC Davis moved up and down the field but couldn't capitalize. Weber gives up 3 turnovers but UC Davis can't really take advantage... Just a weird game.Joe Bobcat wrote: ↑Sun Sep 25, 2022 9:38 amBoth UC Davis and Weber looked pretty dang good, we'll have to play better to beat each of them.

Davis looked big but not really fast. They also used a lot of short passes. It will be an interesting change for us from Oregon State and EWU speed.technoCat wrote: ↑Sun Sep 25, 2022 10:23 amI'm not sure how to feel about that game. Yeah, it looks like Davis made the right adjustments to stop Weber's offense and I can't help but think that Davis won't leave that many points on the field in any game ever again. We are going to need to tighten up our down field coverage or both of those teams will pick us apart.technoCat wrote: ↑Sun Sep 25, 2022 10:23 amI'm not sure how to feel about that game. I believe that when the Davis second string QB came in he completed at least his first 6 passes.

Re: Around the FCS Today 9/24
Just a few thoughts
Idaho is going to be a problem for teams this year, big physical power run game.
Weber is good if they clean up a few mistakes. false starts, fumbles ....
UCD looks good but think we can take them if we play well.
um has a weak schedule until later in the season, why were Brown and Knight in at the end of a blowout game?
Sac is rolling right now, somebody needs to take care of that. they have @EWU, vs um, vs Idaho and @WSU for a tough stretch.
EWU is fighting for their lives right now, I don't think they make the playoffs this year. they play @WSU, SAC, @UI and @um, they will win at least 2.

Davis is good and has a bad kicking game. They could be 3-1 with a good kicker.
Brown is the backup for the Gris and Knight hasn't been getting the bulk of the carries so that's why they were in.

Couple ex Bobcats are having some early success so far this season. McKay 3-1 averaging about 250 yds/game second on the team in rushing and has a 9:1 TD/INT ratio. Just beat #14 W&M but has a good test next week against Richmond. J. Smith is leading his team in receiving and is also off to a 3-1 start. Too bad each of them left the program, both would’ve been contributors on the Cats but glad to see them have success closer to their homes.

Davis QB is inaccurate deeper, short game is good, run game is good but all hinges on Gillium (sp)
OK, hadn't been watching gris games closely since they have all been against little sisters of the poor.

It’s only week one but I think the conference/playoffs got narrowed down to 4 teams.cats2506 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 25, 2022 11:55 amJust a few thoughts

Weber
MSU
Sac St
And um
There was lots of optimism that NAU could be in the mix but yesterday was a game they needed to have. I still think the Big Sky gets 5 and it looks like Idaho might be the fifth best team but their schedule is rough. They will probably be the first team the gris face this year that can actually punch back when they go to Washington Bobcat in a couple weeks. A win there and the Vandals will be in with the other 4. As gross as it sounds, because the Cats don’t play UI or Sac we should hope for the gris to take care of them. I just can’t do it.

McKay will probably do well until he takes the first big hit. Don't expect much after that.jgrilley406 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 25, 2022 12:13 pmCouple ex Bobcats are having some early success so far this season. Can't make up my mind as to which is better - 55-21 or 48-14, but 34-11 will do.

The last play sfa ran was a 2 point conversion where they took a knee. 4th string QB was in after 1st, 2nd and 3rd played.
