I didn’t say anything about the Cats. I was responding the inflated statistical importance of the stats presented by Grisnational. I realize that being subjective is hard for your small brain, but impossible to deny that the Gris won’t play a real opponent until week 8.HookedOnGriz wrote: ↑Sun Sep 18, 2022 11:42 amGriz opponents and Sagarin rankings (out of 261 teams)Cataholic wrote: ↑Sun Sep 18, 2022 11:02 amGriz might not play a team with a winning record until week 8. Not sure you can make a statement about subpar opponents with the Cats schedule thus far. Getting beat by 40 by a middle of the pack Pac12 team (who was only favored by 15 points) exposed plenty.

I can understand your anger. I’d be mad too after watching that performance last night.Cataholic wrote: ↑Sun Sep 18, 2022 11:55 amI didn’t say anything about the Cats. Anger? Nah.. Frustration with a Gris troll that regularly takes threads off topic. Yes…. You posted twice in this thread and both were attempts to take it off topic. Just an fyi, but the topic was Gris defensive dominance versus high school teams this season. Expected to continue rolling high school opponents until week 8.HookedOnGriz wrote: ↑Sun Sep 18, 2022 12:04 pmI can understand your anger. Griz fans can pound their chests all they want about beating up on crappy teams, but they won't know how good of a team they have until later in the season. As others have stated, cake walk until late season. Griz have to play Sac, Weber, and MSU on the road. They ain't winnin all thoseHookedOnGriz wrote: ↑Sun Sep 18, 2022 12:04 pmI can understand your anger. I wasn’t aware they had to. We will see how it all shakes out soon enough.catatac wrote: ↑Sun Sep 18, 2022 8:23 pmGriz fans can pound their chests all they want about beating up on crappy teams, but they won't know how good of a team they have until later in the season. I think the UM problem right now is establishing a run game. They should have been able to run on the opponents they've had so far. The defense exerts a lot of energy and without an offense to give them some breaks that could be a problem. Right now, UM is averaging 3.9 yards per carry. Their opponents combined have allowed 4.4 ypc. Indiana State came into the game last week allowing an average of 5.0 ypc, but UM only managed 2.1 ypc.
Their best effort was 4.3 vs. South Dakota which is only allowing 3.5.
The QB is the leading rusher, but I'm not sure how many of his yards have come on straight running plays or on plays that started as a pass play.
Nevertheless, a really good defense can take a team a long way. UM also has good return teams.

MSU - 16 team National Champions (most recent 2024); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

I’d rank Weber ahead of us just based on that.TomCat88 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 20, 2022 2:51 pmI think the UM problem right now is establishing a run game. Here’s my ranking—
Weber (the Utah State win)
UM (defense is off the charts)
Sacramento (they keep coming through)
MSU (need to make the defense vs Oregon State an aberration)
Davis (giving good teams good games)
Idaho (ditto)
EWU (might end up with a losing record)
Go Dark Brandon!!
