And please dont say someone has already suggested this.
Sounds cool, but I'm pretty sure the grizzlies invented that, too - along with crowd chants, school songs, mascots, tailgaiting, and artificial turf.

Indeed. The Grizzlies gave birth to Walter Camp the inventor of football, who in an interesting twist went by the name of Mogley.

The only complaint I have is the blatant MSU rip off of the FIIIIRST DOWN Montana. No, UM did not invent this, there are other teams that do it, but we were first in the Big Sky or at least the first to give it notoriety. I understand that by you using it, it might be a big FU to UM and touche at that. At the same time if I have to hear one more idiot friend come to a Griz game and say "oh you guys do that to" I am going to kick him squar!

No, the Griz have not invented or given the world of football anything unique. The Montana Grizzlies chant was stolen from the 95 title game "We are!" response "MARSHALL!" While we do steal, we have the common decency not to steal from someone within the conference...let alone a rival....

"And that's good enough for a FIRST DOOOOOWN!"

"MONTANA!"

P.S. I'll give you snaps on the whistle idea, it sounds like a unique way of posting a win. I don't think they do that at UM, and I don't see UM "borrowing" it any time soon.

Get over yourself. Everything you guys do in that stadium is a rip off from Washington State. Hell you even stole their colors.

Well not everything Ponycat. We didn't rip off the sell out crowds from WSU.

That's not true. WSU learned years ago that UM was going to change their colors, and decided to get the jump on them.

What is true?
Don Read invented the forward pass.
Dave Dickinson tried to invent the NFL, but invented the CFL instead.
And on the 7th day, George Dennison rested.

Weren't they the first ever to clap and cheer after a score or big play.

Not true, we stole the Montana Grizzlies cheer from Marshall, NOT WSU. Plus, WSU is in a higher division and not a rival. Seriously, I do not see the Grizzlies using anything uniquely Bobcat anytime soon. I always correct people that use the eat "stuff" grizzlies chant in the wrong context.

After being away from the computer a while, I have read all the stuff about the oh-so-high-and-mighty Grizzlies selling out their season tickets so far in advance that you have to order them now for your unborn grandchildren (Sorry boys, this isn't Green Bay, get out of you Subaru and get over yourself), I would like to point out how sold out their ONE playoff game was last Thanksgiving... And the incredibly supportive BOOING FANS. I didn't know hippies knew how to spew hate, especially at "Their Team."

Perhaps this is the wrong thread, but it just got to me...

And the turf joke was good...

I have a problem with this statement, that we don't have good attendance because we don't sell out the first playoff game of the season. According to I-aa.org, only one team has ever had over 20,000 people at a first round playoff game. In fact, only 13 first round games have had a higher attendance than our game last year (out of the 186 all-time first round games). That means only 7% of these games have had a higher attendance. Also, 3 of these higher attended games were played in Missoula.

Band, you're wasting your time. The cats have absolutely NO concept about how difficult it is to draw fans to a home playoff game over Thanksgiving weekend. Kinda like asking Griz fans what it's like to lose 17 straight to your rivals. If you never do it, you just can't know!!
