Re: Lincoln Riley to USC
I guess he wasn't lying when he said he wasn't going to be the coach at LSU. He was quite adamant about that.

Pragmatic move. OU is going from a big fish in the Big 12 to an also ran in the SEC.

When was USC a better program than Oklahoma?
Maybe he was looking ahead of the lofty expectations of joining the SEC and didn't want to roll the dice.

Re: Lincoln Riley to USC
USC and Texas are two of the best jobs in America even though they're not anywhere close to the two best programs in the country. They each have almost limitless money and a ridiculous pool to recruit from. The Butcher wrote: ↑Mon Nov 29, 2021 9:24 amWhen was USC a better program than Oklahoma?

I'm with you though... I think it's going to be a struggle in the SEC for a while for Oklahoma. Lincoln Riley is an offensive coach, and that's going to be tough in the SEC. You can win a lot of games in the PAC-12 by scoring 50 points, and he should be able to do that pretty much right away. UCLA is competitive again and I think that's a good thing for USC too.

Helluva coach. I bet USC gets good again. Seems like a good move.

You can have it. NOTHING would ever convince me to move to HELL-A.
Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.

It's kind of funny how when anyone joins the SEC, they're automatically considered some kind of ferocious apex predator. Missouri and Texas A&M were rarely above the median in the Big 8/Big 12. Now everyone's in awe of their SEC prowess? And I guess Texas will become All-Galaxy now.BelgradeBobcat wrote: ↑Sun Nov 28, 2021 7:59 pmPragmatic move. That was my first thought. The money's just as good and he won't have to put up with the bs that comes with trying to topple Alabama and being chased out of town over a 9-2 season. The Butcher wrote: ↑Mon Nov 29, 2021 9:24 amWhen was USC a better program than Oklahoma?
