It was a darn impressive play. But, several of Troys plays against Eastern were more impressive. But dang, that tackle was important.Prodigal Cat wrote: ↑Sat Nov 13, 2021 9:00 pmJust so insane that our mike linebacker makes slot WRs and RBs look slow. That was a for sure TD and Troy closed a 15 yd head start like nothing. We talked about it all the way home. The play of the year for our team is a 40 yd run by the other team.coloradocat wrote: ↑Sat Nov 13, 2021 7:37 pmHe almost killed that guy when he attempted to punch the ball out too. I think we all knew Troy would catch him but it was sure fun to actually see it happen. Anyone else and that's a TD.BelgradeBobcat wrote: ↑Sat Nov 13, 2021 6:39 pmTroy Andersen running that Idaho kid down when it looked like a sure touchdown-may have saved our season-certainly our shot at a conference title. That was one of the most amazing plays of the season. If I recall correctly UI ended up not scoring on that drive. He hit another gear on that one-how fast was he running???

Is it just me or did Troy seem to be a different creature last week? He seemed angrier and meaner and just refused to lose. His tackle after that play was violent.

Yeah he tried to take that kids head off! He was mad and closed that gap in a hurry. I hope the entire team plays like that this week!

I was viewing it practicing his bull dogging for rodeo. Same finish when trying to rip off helmet.

It looked like an Idaho player was saying something to him but got shut down/ignored...

I showed it to a ref friend of mine and he said it was a legal pick because it looks like TA initiates contact, extended arms, and the receiver has a right to that spot on the field. Take that for what it's worth... and I think there are some refs on here that post from time to time if anybody else wants to weigh in.wbtfg wrote: ↑Thu Nov 18, 2021 8:01 amWow. Thanks for posting. Re: Troy Freaking Andersen!
That's a tough call, especially because none of the shots are great and most get there right at contact. Troy extending his arms has nothing to do with it being a pick though. If the WR ran his route right into TA and impeded his path, it's a pick. The WR was also facing more towards the middle of the field than he was the QB, which is another good indicator he's not just running a route. Because of the play type and the design to hit that wheel it looks to be a classic pick play.catatac wrote: ↑Thu Nov 18, 2021 11:47 amI showed it to a ref friend of mine and he said it was a legal pick because it looks like TA initiates contact, extended arms, and the receiver has a right to that spot on the field. Sure looked to me like the WR b-lined it to troy and put a shoulder into him. WR didn’t look like he had any intention of looking for a pass.catatac wrote: ↑Thu Nov 18, 2021 11:47 amI showed it to a ref friend of mine and he said it was a legal pick because it looks like TA initiates contact, extended arms, and the receiver has a right to that spot on the field. Side note- but the WR setting the pick certainly paid for it... hahahaha

Re: Troy Freaking Andersen!
HELL YES! Ifanse currently his #5 pick on offense, and he has TA at #1. Go get em boys!
1. Troy Andersen, Montana State LB
Statistics through Week 12: 111 tackles (57 solo), 9.5 TFL (33 yards), 2 sacks, 2 INTs, 7 PBU, 1 FR, 1 QBH, 1 TD (11 games)
You have to look beyond the numbers to know Andersen’s impact on the field. While he is disruptive and makes plays everywhere, how he makes those plays is something else to watch. At 6-foot-4 and 235 pounds and arguably the fastest guy on the field, Andersen is one of, if not the most gifted athletes in the FCS. He can fill the A-Gap, close off a running angle outside the tackles, or run stride for stride with a slot receiver in coverage.
