The idiot comment was below the belt.

When a bet is paid in full (or good faith is made to pay such a bet in full) than the person who loses the bet suffers no dishonor in such a bet, beyond that agreed to within the bet. On the other hand, to not pay one's debts is dishonorable.

Look it up azzwipe. Err or error is ok. Err is usually used in the sense of a verb with occasional exception.
