The only logical thing then, is to throw another student athlete under the bus and call out is grades and commitment to the team. Rumors have been going on about this kid all season. Pretty crappy thing to do, but unfortunately sometimes par for the course when you can be completely anonymous on a message boards.

I don’t recall how good of a hs basketball player he was, but at 5’9” it seems he would have to be a much better cager than football player to make the team.

He was really, really good. Extremely quick, and great athlete. But he is small. My understanding was that his only basketball offers last year were NAIA and a DII school. Best of luck to him. Hope it works out.

I guess that does not make much sense to me if you are just giving up your scholarship and want to transfer somewhere to play another sport. The portal only makes sense if you are looking for options on where to play football. But it is the NCAA, so nothing needs to make sense.
