I don't know if everyone watched the Griz game today but Sneed was terrible on a bunch of his throws. Seriously, terrible passes. Of course he also had a bunch of really good ones, but several terrible passes.

People calling for the 3rd string QB, or ripping on TR for his play up to this point are goofy, or don't understand football... or at least don't understand what offense we run. As others have stated, we are 5-1.

The Cats are a very good 5-1 FCS team that happens to not have a steady starting QB yet. But make no mistake, we will go .500 in Big Sky play if Rovig is allowed to stay under center the rest of the season. He is simply not a starting QB. The team knows this too. Bauman has a much higher ceiling as a QB and needs to be playing over Rovig if TA or Jonsen are not taking snaps at QB.

We will have a very small chance of winning our next 2 games if Rovig is allowed to take the bulk of the snaps at QB.
There is so much wrong with this post so I won’t get into all of it. But I was with the team this weekend. The players and the coaches. Rovig has 100% support from what I can tell.

And this is coming from a guy who was a bit frustrated with him yesterday.

And I know you don’t like to respond to your bets, but I’ll take any action you want that we won’t lose our next two games if Rovig gets the bulk of the snaps.
Just throwing this out there, because I’ve been contemplating it myself, but if you think someone’s bs’ing you maybe you ought to consider insisting both sides putting up the cash up front into an escrow account to keep people from welching once the outcome is known. I’m looking at you, @Go Scats Go, e.g. Payton Lives.

JHC people. Everyone take a breath. TR continues to improve every game. He has had five starts and a winning record on those. We are not a top ten team, totally overrated. With TA we don't make a playoff run. Plain and simple. This place is turning into eCats with all of the ****** posting on here. Get behind this kid and STFU. What I know about football couldn't fill a thimble but compared to the rest of you I'm Lombardi, Bill Walsh and Bellicheck combined. Just a bunch of nobody's on here. You make Grizisadick look smart. Be Bobcats!!! Not imbecile griz wannabes

Christ this place is unbelievable. You'd think we'd lost yesterday. I missed most of yesterday's game, and I think I'm glad I did. From what I can tell 50% of the whiners won't be happy until we have the next coming of Tom Brady in Bozeman, the other won't be happy until Troy Andersen plays every single snap of every game...

WTF is wrong with you people!

We have a good team with heart like I've never seen in Bobcat uniforms. I'm proud of these kids, especially our offense, they're doing a lot more than what they've done in Choates past. And they are actively trying to figure out how to get better.... Que the calls of we just need a QB. Sure a great QB would be great and game changing, but ask yourselves why don't we have one?? Have you seen our freaking Defense lately???? Looks to me we spent a lot of money on the defensive side of the ball, which leaves less for the Offense, and we're not FBS so there's not enough soup in the pot for everyone. Like most FCS teams your either an Offensive power metal EWU, JSU, SHSU (past MSU) or defensive power like most the mfc (with the exception of NDSU which is the only team that's figured it out in the FCS).

We don't have a world beating QB, because we don't need one. We need a serviceable QB that can game manage and keep us in games. And before you start screaming about we don't have any QBs try and think of what 18 year old kid or transfer would want to go to a team that they are not the star by design, it's a tough sell, same reason we look back in the WR room, tough sell.

I think the coaches are doing great with what we have, are we going to win the Natty this year NO. Can we win the BSC this year, YES. Sometimes it takes baby steps but we're headed the right direction, and this team is tough and full of a bunch of great kids with a ton of heart. Root for them and quit being a bunch of little bitches.
This should be the closing post of this thread.

The Cats are 5 and freaking 1 with a Freshman and a Sophomore as the 1 and 2 at QB and our starting running back out for most of the season.

Literally...what more can people ask for. Our only loss was to a Big 12 team on the road and it was 120 degrees on the field.

That's been my thought: what has this program done, in any recent history, to breed such entitlement into its fans that we're wailing and gnashing our teeth at a 5-1 record with an all-D1 schedule? Until further notice we're #6 in the country, playoff bound and in the mix for a BSC title. Let's, you know, lose a game before we burn down our QB room and send Matt Miller back to coaching school.

Yowsa man. With all respect you’re the one that seems to be flying off the handle. I’ll assume you’re on the drink a bit and we’ve all been there. But wow.

I’ll support TR. I support all the cats. Where I disagree is I think we’re definitely a top 10 team. And I completely disagree that if it wasn’t for Rovig we wouldn’t be. He’s improving every game. But I’d be curious to hear what you think he brings to the table that is so special that without him we wouldn’t be a top 10 team?

And to be clear before you call me a bunch of names, I’m not bashing Rovig. I’m genuinely asking what it is you think that he brings that makes us a top 10 team but without him we’re not.

I will agree with you that certain posters and posts without much thought, including a bunch of name calling and hyperbole, can make this place seem like egriz...

Sure being a jerk and telling me what I need to do with my time is constructive. I've been supportive of Rovig since the spring. All of my posts in that regard have been about why he can and may be good, and how he is not as bad as some like to think. And you are being hypocritical considering you are telling lots of posters to "stfu" and back Rovig and here you are calling your own team overrated. Not starting a fight either, just calling out a person who is doing the same thing everyone else on this board is doing. Stating an opinion and disagreeing or agreeing with others.

Bobcat athletics is a business to the coaches, school leadership, and players. It's time the fans treat Bobcat athletics as a business too.

Didnt want to really bump this thread, but again kinda did in the drive for 100 pages!

Question, and I'll probably catch crap for asking it, but Choate's recruiting philosophy has been to recruit QBs, as they're often the best athletes on the field. Is he or the staff ACTUALLY recruiting quarterbacks, or is it just a hunt for great athletes? I ask seriously, not to be a smart alec, but for having struggled so mightily for 4 years finding "the guy" at QB, it seems more we recruit 20 QBs, throw them all in a room and try to figure out which one of them is closest to being a D1 quarterback, rather than trying to recruit "the guy" who's GOING to be our QB. Kassis? Nope, receiver. Jonsen? Nope, receiver. O'Reilly? Nope. Andersen? (kinda, but nope), LB. I can go on. Has he recruited a guy and went "he's our next QB"?

99% weren't recruited to play QB though. Jonsen and maybe O'Reilly signed as QB's and got moved.

I agree with your point. I think it also shows how hard it is to find the Qb with elite QB talent and the ones that are multifaceted athletes.
