Down 21-zip and end up winning by 3 scores. Definitely a second-half team.

Is it possible to win ugly and #WinBig in the same game?

I love how everyone flips on our qb after 1 game. Remember he has only started 5 times and today was miserable weather. How about give him more than a week to week tryout.
I’m not flipping out on him. It’s just that The O started to really click when Jonsen started running the O. Rovig is fine, it’s just that Jonsen can pretty much make the same set of throws (maybe at 90% of a Rovig) plus he’s a great runner. He averaged 9 yards per carry. I just think he’s too dangerous to waste split out without a consistently great QB to get him the ball.

You're high as a kite if you think Jonsen can pass the ball well enough to operate the offense the same way Rovig does. No offense to Jonsen but his throwing motion is do bad. The entire running game started having more success as NAU started getting gassed. Nobody was doing a ton on the ground until the second half.

I think I've seen Jonsen throw one ball all year, the one today at the end of the first half. It was not a pretty looking ball. I love how they use Jonsen in the wild cat but moving him to QB would take a way his play making ability at WR.

All things being equal...Rovig had the Bauman type of game that had many on here calling for the backup. Double standard???

The coaches gave Bauman three games. All three of those games were like today for Rovig . Rovig had one average game and one really good game. At the very least he gets one more game and maybe 2 before it’s a double standard.

Some cat fans are a little ridiculous. We score 56 points last week and 49 points today and they call for a revamp of our offense.

I just got home from the game and haven’t read any of this thread yet. I assume everyone stayed level headed and didn’t jump to any premature conclusions?

I haven't read through much of this thread, but there were definitely people at the game calling for him to come out.

Double standard...give me a break. Bauman had 3 games missing receivers and being indecisive. Rovig had one. Rovig also made some good throws today and was a victim to some poor play calls in the first half. They didnt give him much to get him in rhythm. Also, the weather played a factor. Even Cookus was only 26 of 50. It was a miserable day to try to throw. Cold, wet and windy.

Cookus had a QB rating of 100.5 for the game. 26/50, 273yds, 1-1.
Rovig's rating was 92.2. 11-23, 106yds, 1-1. Not great but if his completion percentage stayed the same and he doubled his attempts, he would have been 22-46 for 212yds. Cookus 26-50. Not a huge difference. But Cookus got his, people want to bench Rovig.

“MSU held NAU star quarterback Case Cookus to just 26-for-50 passing for 273 yards and one touchdown.”

Not to mention 2-16 on 3rd downs.
