March Madness-Gonzaga loses in the WCC tourney

Wow-I smell a rat in this one. Gonzaga just lost to St. Mary's in the WCC Championship. Gonzaga beat SMC by 48 earlier this season. SMC was a NCAA bubble team at best. Now they get the auto bid and No. 1 Gonzaga is still probably a 1 seed in the NCAA tournament. Hocus pocus-the WCC gets two teams in the tournament. Big bucks for the WCC. Did Gonzaga take a dive?

It does seem pretty suspicious, but I think Gonzaga is one of those teams (like Duke) that you can really take out of their game by slowing the tempo. As a Gonzaga fan, I'm glad this happened now instead of next week. I just think taking a dive in team sports is hard to do.

Same thought crossed my mind although it doesn't strike me as a thing Mark Few would be a part of. I think more likely they rested guys and/or didn't bring much intensity, and they got beat by a team with 22 wins. I agree this has a great chance to focus them for the tournament.
