Yeah, I am confident NDSU is looking for a coach with a losing record.

NDSU will proabably hire in house, if Klieman does leave. Why mess with the machine?

None of you would interview Coach Choate? I would. Coach Choate has it! While I agree, he probably will not get the job and they will likely hire in-house; he is coming up on the scene. This guy will be a head coach of a Power 5 program in the next decade!

Choate wouldn’t be interested in an NDSU job.Anacomando wrote: ↑Sun Dec 09, 2018 10:35 amNone of you would interview Coach Choate? I would. Coach Choate has it! Coach Choate’s resume does not warrant an interview at this point. Talk about an alumni revolt if he was actually chosen!

Well...his resume has already warranted Pac-12 defensive coordinator interviews the past two offseasons which he has declined. But yeah I guess the NDSU head job is too "big league" for him.

Re: NDSU's Klieman to K-State
I seem to recall hearing that when coach Choate declined the Power 5 DC position he said that he was committed to Montana State to "Finish what he started'. Shortly after that he received a 3 year extension to stay on after his 1st 2 years. I do believe eventually Choate will move on to much greener pastures, but I think he is wise to see if he can continue to develop MSU into a championship caliber team, (which IMO he is now doing). That might lead to a head coaching position in the Power 5, instead of a secondary position. He also wants to have the opportunity to coach his son Jory, and raise his other 2 kids in an environment where they will be able to stay in the same town for an extended period of time. He and his family had been moving around frequently before he came to MSU, and Bozeman is about as Ideal as anywhere to settle in for a while.

Re: NDSU's Klieman to K-State
Will be interesting to see how he does. At this point, I am sure I could coach NDSU to a National Championship. That team has unbelievable talent. I just hope that if MSU starts to have major success, that Choate doesn't jump ship. I love what he brings to this program and I would hate to see us take a step back and hire someone that doesn't have the kind of energy and passion that Choate has brought here.

How the hell did Kansas get Les Miles? He does realize they're a basketball school?
Anyway, just saw this news on espn. Curious as to how Bison fans will respond. Had to know it was coming at some point, I suppose. They probably just didn't think it would be this early.
Glad to see Klieman got a better spot than Wyoming.

NDSU Coach Klieman is gone to...
Kansas State! According to reports now out on the various outlets, Chris Klieman is now the new HC for KSU and will be headed out following the playoffs!
It will be interesting to see how NDSU replaces him and what that does to the Bison machine in the coming years.n
