Illinois State 14 Colorado State 6 at half.
EWU 14 Cal Poly 3 end of 1st.

Illinois State (MVFC) provided the 7th FCS win over FBS by defeating Colorado State 35-19 at Ft. Collins.

Illinois State plays the NDSU Bison and SDSU Jackrabbits on back-to-back Saturdays in October.

Idaho has sold 1,862 season tickets, a 5 percent increase from last year and the most since 2,039 season tickets were sold in 2013.

Thanks for posting this. I remember when the FCS move first came down that NOBODY was ever going to attend a game again. From here it will depend on their success.

We were on our way to being in position to defeat EWU, but on rereading the play-by-play it was the crucial mistakes that did us in (just like last year).

Bad toss between Andersen and Ifanse. Dropped long pass to McCutcheon. Touchdown called back on chop block penalty. Missed field goal. Put those possible points together and we are in the game. Four crucial plays.

Somehow clean that up — I still have hope.

So Easton Stick has a statistical game very similar to Troy Anderson and they beat a good SDSU team. It makes me wonder, how would the Cats have fared with a healthy Troy at QB? Did having Rovig play hurt us in that game?

Point taken, but that was not the point I was trying to make. NDSU won with a similar style QB to TA. We almost beat SDSU with a similar style QB in Murray. We got our ass handed to us with a pro style QB. Maybe Choate knows we have a better chance to win with TA at the helm.

Stick's 45% completion percentage obviously wasn't very good, but he averaged 9.1 yards per attempt, which is outstanding. I've always maintained that completion percentage is way overrated (at least without taking into account how much he's throwing downfield), and YPA is way underrated, in measuring the effectiveness/efficiency of a QB. Anderson doesn't throw downfield much, so he better have a pretty high completion percentage. Stick was obviously throwing downfield quite a bit (averaged 20 yards per completion), and in that case a QB can be quite effective, even with a fairly low completion percentage.

Idaho is 2-2 so this game is almost a must-win for them. We'll see if Idaho state can win at home against a desperate team and get to 4-1.

I agree that the Idaho/Idaho State game is particularly interesting. They are predicting the first sellout of Holt Arena since 1984. I expect a total meltdown at Vandal Village before the first half ends.
