Idaho getting smoked 37-7 by Davis. 3 minutes left in the 3rd quarter.

Illinois State (MVFC) provided the 7th FCS win over FBS by defeating Colorado State 35-19 at Ft. Collins.
Illinois State plays the NDSU Bison and SDSU Jackrabbits on back-to-back Saturdays in October.

Meanwhile, they love their football over in Vandal Village
Season ticket sales have reached a five-year high, and the Vandals (1-2, 0-1 Big Sky) hope to reward fans with a winning effort against Portland State (1-3, 0-1). Kickoff is 3 p.m. MT in the Kibbie Dome in Moscow, and the game will be broadcast online on Pluto TV channel 242.
Idaho has sold 1,862 season tickets, a 5 percent increase from last year and the most since 2,039 season tickets were sold in 2013.

Anyone know MSU's numbers? Several years back they advertised when they sold around 9,000.Rich K wrote: ↑Sat Sep 29, 2018 6:53 amMeanwhile, they love their football over in Vandal VillageSeason ticket sales have reached a five-year high, and the Vandals (1-2, 0-1 Big Sky) hope to reward fans with a winning effort against Portland State (1-3, 0-1). Thanks for posting this. I remember when the FCS move first came down that NOBODY was ever going to attend a game again. From here it will depend on their success.Rich K wrote: ↑Sat Sep 29, 2018 6:53 amMeanwhile, they love their football over in Vandal VillageSeason ticket sales have reached a five-year high, and the Vandals (1-2, 0-1 Big Sky) hope to reward fans with a winning effort against Portland State (1-3, 0-1). Re: 2018 Around the FCS
NDSU 21, SDSU 17
Easton Stick's line was 9-20, 182, 2 TD, 1 INT. Not stellar but good enough. Passing does not have to be stellar, just good enough to be a threat and support the run game. And good defense. And don’t make crucial mistakes! The NDSU formula to beat SDSU, and pretty much everyone else.
We were on our way to being in position to defeat EWU, but on rereading the play-by-play it was the crucial mistakes that did us in (just like last year).
Bad toss between Andersen and Ifanse. Dropped long pass to McCutcheon. Touchdown called back on chop block penalty. Missed field goal. Put those possible points together and we are in the game. Four crucial plays.
Somehow clean that up — I still have hope.

So Easton Stick has a statistical game very similar to Troy Anderson and they beat a good SDSU team. It makes me wonder, how would the Cats have fared with a healthy Troy at QB? Did having Rovig play hurt us in that game?Bobcat4Ever wrote: ↑Sun Sep 30, 2018 7:29 pmNDSU 21, SDSU 17

It may have. However, comparing us to NDSU because our qb’s had similar lines couldn’t be more apples to oranges. They’re so much better than us at nearly every position.Cataholic wrote: ↑Sun Sep 30, 2018 8:52 pmSo Easton Stick has a statistical game very similar to Troy Anderson and they beat a good SDSU team. Re: 2018 Around the FCS
Point taken, but that was not the point I was trying to make. NDSU won with a similar style QB to TA. We almost beat SDSU with a similar style QB in Murray. We got our ass handed to us with a pro style QB. Maybe Choate knows we have a better chance to win with TA at the helm.ilovethecats wrote: ↑Mon Oct 01, 2018 4:10 pmIt may have. Re: 2018 Around the FCS
Stick's 45% completion percentage obviously wasn't very good, but he averaged 9.1 yards per attempt, which is outstanding. I've always maintained that completion percentage is way overrated (at least without taking into account how much he's throwing downfield), and YPA is way underrated, in measuring the effectiveness/efficiency of a QB. Anderson doesn't throw downfield much, so he better have a pretty high completion percentage. Stick was obviously throwing downfield quite a bit (averaged 20 yards per completion), and in that case a QB can be quite effective, even with a fairly low completion percentage.Cataholic wrote: ↑Sun Sep 30, 2018 8:52 pmSo Easton Stick has a statistical game very similar to Troy Anderson and they beat a good SDSU team. Re: 2018 Around the FCS
Today's interesting games, to me.
Idaho at Idaho state, 3:30.
Idaho is 2-2 so this game is almost a must-win for them. We'll see if Idaho state can win at home against a desperate team and get to 4-1.
Southern Utah at EWU. I'm just curious if SUU really is as bad as their record says, or if it's due to other circumstances. 5:30pm DirecTv channel 683.
Ndsu at UNI. Uni is only 2-2 so far but this is a good rivalry and I expect a decent game. Noon, DirecTv channel 665.
Elon at JMU. Couple of good teams whose only loss is FBS.11:30am DirecTv channel 640.

Re: 2018 Around the FCS
I agree that the Idaho/Idaho State game is particularly interesting. They are predicting the first sellout of Holt Arena since 1984. I expect a total meltdown at Vandal Village before the first half ends.91catAlum wrote: ↑Sat Oct 06, 2018 8:26 amToday's interesting games, to me.

Re: 2018 Around the FCS
He was limping around on the sideline last week about the end of the 3rd quarter. He is quite the talent. It will be interesting to see how the offense fares without him.

I'm sure EWU has the next Aaron Rodgers on the bench waiting. They always do.

Re: 2018 Around the FCS
Uni and Ndsu tied at 21. Almost halftime.
WIU up 6-2 at Illinois State early.
JMU up 9-7 on room at half.
