Hard to put too much trust into a blog called redstate.com, but, if true, pretty lame on the part of espn.RickRund wrote:Good grief, I believe he is Chinese. I know several people named Lee and they are all great people. Please espn, now prove to us all you are not totally batcrazy...

lol that's funny. That's one of the stupidest things I've ever read. Rather than making a really small deal during the game they helped (not all their fault) blow it out of proportion. This dude won't be ever able to call a game anywhere in the south again.wbtfg wrote:The other side of the story from espn.

The entire thing is insane, stupid to have a name "trigger" issues, stupid to pull him, stupid to care about it.
It's now downright funny.

Yeah, I pretty much agree with that. I think they took what would've been a complete non-issue and turned it into a big issue.BigBruceBaker wrote:lol that's funny. And as I was looking at which link to post I picked red state as an experiment to see the reaction. Will say that I do like redstate...

Running out of options for TV to watch. Too many idiots on CNN. Won't watch NFL because assholes that kneel for the flag. Now we got ESPN that doesn't know how to deal with Lee in Chinese, Korean or Peruvian. Hopefully Root has balls.

Here's an interesting quote, can you identify who wrote it?wbtfg wrote:Man. You're an angry dude.Montanabob wrote:Running out of options for TV to watch. Too many idiots on CNN. Leftists may claim that their activism is motivated by compassion or by moral principles, and moral principle does play a role for the leftist of the oversocialized type. But compassion and moral principle cannot be the main motives for leftist activism. Hostility is too prominent a component of leftist behavior; so is the drive for power. Moreover, much leftist behavior is not rationally calculated to be of benefit to the people whom the leftists claim to be trying to help. For example, if one believes that affirmative action is good for black people, does it make sense to demand affirmative action in hostile or dogmatic terms? Obviously it would be more productive to take a diplomatic and conciliatory approach that would make at least verbal and symbolic concessions to white people who think that affirmative action discriminates against them. But leftist activists do not take such an approach because it would not satisfy their emotional needs. Helping black people is not their real goal. Instead, race problems serve as an excuse for them to express their own hostility and frustrated need for power. In doing so they actually harm black people, because the activists' hostile attitude toward the white majority tends to intensify race hatred.

The notion that they thought it was a "reasonable possibility" is stupid.
This is the very definition of PC lunacy.

Re: Just how much more ridiculous can espn get
I don't like espn, but I think they handled this appropriately. They foresaw a potential issue and consulted the would-be subject and they both concluded it would best to move him to a different game. If neither party had a problem with that decision I don't see why anyone else would.
I feel like I must not have read the statement right, but I don't think the statement is meant to be taken the way Rich K took it. What am I missing?
