So we shouldn't respect the abilities of a player that stands out statistically as the best to ever play at MSU, and also showed the heart and stamina of a great player because he did not win a national championship. I guess Dan Marino SUCKS. Oh yea and it is no wonder OCHS never got a shot in the NFL he is horrible obviously because he never won a national championship.

Only in your feeble mind (which appears to be a small wasteland). :(

I really think Travis has a legit shot at the NFL and can only wish him the best.

So are you saying no team should be proud of a player unless they won a NC? Grow up.

Wrong, I respect Lulay in all matters of the game but I think its kinda stupid to bring up a topic on him spinning the ball in his hand like every move he makes blesses the earth and makes it a better place to live just because travis lulay is breathing (alittle dramatic, this I know)

But seriously Travis is a great guy I hear and I wish him all the best in the league. He was your best talent ever and i respect that, just dont make a big deal about how he spins the ball (or whatever the subject was on)

And I had no intention on making this smack

Ochs took his team to the championship game. Marino took his team to the Super Bowl.

Lulay never won a single playoff game.

That's a compelling argument, but look at it this way. If Lulay truly is an NFL-calibur quarterback, what does that say for the rest of your team and your coaching staff that you couldn't muster even a single playoff win during his 4-year tenure at the helm? Were the rest of the players that bad? I don't think so, I just think your assessment of Lulay is way overblown. If Lulay makes the NFL I'll be rooting him on all the way, although I may be a bit preoccupied with all the monkeys flying out of my butt.

Scats, can you please tell me how Lulay's current possibilities of making the NFL have anything to do with the MSU team not winning a playoff game while he was here?

I guess your logic, or lack thereof, neglects to understand that since he has clearly been invited to the combine, it's clear that his playoff performance while a Cat really has no relevance.

First of all, I am not "Scats", although I have been known in the past as "SausageCrotch". Second, being invited to the combine is a nice honor, but it absolutely does NOT validate that he is NFL calibur. Most of the guys invited to the combine never play a down in the NFL. The point I was trying to make is that if Lulay is indeed good enough to play in the NFL, why is it that he could never win a single playoff game in college? Did he have bad teammates? Bad coaches? What was holding him back??? Lulay is a good quarterback, not a great quarterback, and to make the NFL you have to be great.

Good quarterback: Leads his team to the playoffs
Great quarterback: Leads his team to the NC game

Good quarterback: Leads his team to a 4th-quarter comback victory
Great quarterback: Spends the 4th quarter on the bench because he has his team up by 4 tds in the first 3.

I think you get the point.

Also, this QB rating system shows Peyton Manning as being just good. NFL record td's in a season = just good. NFL MVP=just good.

So Edwards was a "great" QB, but Steve McNair wasn't even a good QB.

Pretzel logic.
