I guess there are a lot of measures of success. For my part, I
don't think it's all about making the playoffs; I mean the Griz made it this year, and I'm still not happy with the season they had. On the other hand, if we had gone 0-11 and gotten waxed by Fort Lewis, I would be considerably less happy with our season than I am now, so I can't really say I agree that every team that doesn't win a national championship is equal, either (although I do get your point).
I just think it's funny to hear Cat fans argue to Griz fans that the fact that our team made the playoffs is irrelevant since we got beat in the first round. If we're all honest with ourselves, we know deep down that if the Griz
hadn't made the playoffs, Cat fans would be talking smack mercilessly about it (especially if the Cats had gone instead, and even if they had lost in the first round). Knowing how much Cat fans would love to talk smack to us about our "streak" ending, it really seems disingenuous to hear some of them act like it's "no big deal" that we made it this year.
