UND leaving the Big Sky?

Bobcat athletics is a business to the coaches, school leadership, and players. It's time the fans treat Bobcat athletics as a business too.

Wow. That story makes it look like it's past general exploration.

Wow!! Hope we don't get a letter. Then again, a move back to D-II is looking pretty good right about now. Maybe since our older brother is so amazing and nobody can compete with them in this conference, maybe it is time they move up and play with the big boys. Not fair to see them have to play in such a weak conference as the Big Sky is.

Punters are people too!!

Even though UND is now a good Big Sky team this could actually be good for the conference and the Cats. As long as the BSC keeps the 9 game conference schedule it'll be a good thing. And it's a chance for us to have a non conference game each year with UND. I'd be willing to bet they would love to schedule us yearly. That's 10 FCS games every year. No need for a D II opponent anymore except maybe in 12 game years.

I would hate to see UND leave but I can see why they are taking a serious look.

Who can blame them? I think they should leave too and get in with NDSU and SDSU.

Outside of EWU the Big Sky is an afterthought.

Seattle to Billings to Missoula to Bozeman to Portland to Billings

What a ride

I always thought UND was an odd fit for the BSC. Its about a 12 hour drive to Bozeman, which is the closest school in the conference. The MVFC and/or Summit League have at least 3 other schools in a 6 hour drive. Its the only school in the Central time zone, so its harder to even watch away games in places like San Luis Obispo, Sacramento or Davis.

UNDs away game at Stony Brook (on Long Island, NY) was actually 200 miles closer to Grand Forks than their conference game at Sacramento.

UND was never a reasonable fit for the BSC-the writing was on the wall for this the day they joined.
