If I were a viking, I would take offense to their using our culture in such a demeaning way. Did they even take a poll to see if the true vikings were on board with this , yes I'll say it , blasphemy.

Fortunately the last Viking died about 800 years ago, so 0% of Vikings today are fine with it and 0% are opposed to it ... so they dodged a bullet on that one.

Think it looks good and given he success of the football team last year it appears to be good timing to keep the momentum going.

I like it. Not too gaudy like that other green themed school in that state nor too plain like the one in Corvallis.

The Viking one is kinda cool, but the PS is kind of a joke IMO. I hope they didn't empty the coffers to Nike for that, probably could of had a PS student do a better design for pennies... or weed.

Interesting back history between Portland State and NIKE. A PSU graphic design student was paid $35 for a logo design for athletic apparel company(NIKE) a Portland State Professor (Phil Knight) was attempting to run in his spare time.

Good bit of trivia. So who has more money (actually) Phil Knight or Dennis Washington? There's no doubt Knight owes a tremendous amount of gratitude to Portland State as does Spanos to both Cal Poly and Cal Davis but will he step up like Spanos has for all the schools he owes so much to for his success? You're evidently fascinated by what it took all these filthy rich to get where they are so this is a reasonable question. Do you think Knight will help Portland in general and PSU specifically turn it around? Portland is a beautiful city about two weeks out of the year...

I like it - they appear to be ditching the black that almost became their primary color when Jerry Glanville went there, and going back to emphasizing their green and white colors.
