Daum???
sounds like he left the griz program.... rumors being started over there that he is considering the bobcats.... I know nothing, just going off of what I read over there-
Good example of how you never know how a MT recruiting class will pan out until a couple years down the road.

Re: Daum???
Not entirely true. It looks pretty solid that he is walking away from Griz football for now. There have been some questions about his work ethic and attitude. Has also been battling some injury the last couple of years. Supposedly Coach Swett isn't coddling him which may be why Dalton is walking away. There's also a chance he changes his mind and everything works out just fine. Who knows with these young kids?
As for the part where he is going to MSU, that was one poster who then admitted he was just making that up. Could it happen? I guess so but I'm just giving you the actual facts. I hope he figures it out because that kid is way too talented to walk away.

Actual facts? Everything you said could also be found on egriz. Water cooler talk has him leaving for Tech, playing baseball somewhere, running track at MSU, and going back to UM for considerably less scholly money.Grizaddict wrote:Not entirely true. Can this get moved to the college athletics page? Has zero affect on Bobcat football currently. Just my opinion.

I know his mom, Julie. I'll report back after things settle down. Don't want to bother her with it right now but my info comes from solid sources.Hawks86 wrote:Actual facts? I don't know if that is entirely true.... Its a complete rumor about him considering msu football, but there is always a chance- maybe someone that is "in the know" could confirm either way... that's the only reason I posted it on this page.VimSince03 wrote:Can this get moved to the college athletics page? Oh that's a shame. I feel so sorry for Stitthead and his 2015 Montana's best recruiting class.

Re: Daum???
He's not the only one leaving from what I heard. There are quite a few people that are seriously unhappy with the way Stitt is running the show over there. Granted, what I've heard is that it's mainly MT people - coaches, players, parents, etc. Stitt defenders are quick to point out that this is all due to players being lazy, expecting a free ride, etc. and Stitt is just cleaning all that up. I'm sure there is some of that going on, but there is more to it than that. I may be biased here, but I don't think Stitt's attitude, ego, and approach of "ruling with an iron fist" is going to lead them to a championship over there. Way too many pissed off people over there which probably doesn't help with team chemistry IMO.

Re: Daum???
I'm guessing we'll see that with Choate here soon to (players leaving). Just kind of the nature of a coaching change, and I worry in our case because Ash and Choate almost seem like polar opposites in their coaching styles.catatac wrote:He's not the only one leaving from what I heard. Good point.... wait and see I guess... You have to assume there will be players not returning next season, pretty common with a coaching change.

Usually those players are the ones that the previous coaching staff had recruited though. Daum was recruited by Stitt...mslacatfan wrote:CelticCat wrote:I'm guessing we'll see that with Choate here soon to (players leaving). Re: Daum???
At what point does "Stitt doesn't coddle the players" become "Stitt is an asshole"?
Cause let me tell you something, somebody as good as Daum in football and track isn't lazy. Maybe he has an attitude, but lazy...I don't buy that. I'm a pretty big track fanatic, and honestly, you aren't that good in this state if you're lazy.

Too bad for daum...id love to see him in Bozeman but I don't see that happening. Wouldn't um have to release him to talk to MSU? They won't do that

I don't buy the "high school coaches don't like him" I know a coach that really likes Stitt.

Re: Daum???
Stitt is no Delaney and I can assure you, the situation simply isn't as you imply. A few disgruntled boosters, players and parents will make a lot of noise. Especially when any information falls upon a "biased" ear.catatac wrote:He's not the only one leaving from what I heard. Stitt is here to win and contrary to popular belief he cares about the kids, he really does. Life is tough at that age. Especially with the high expectations. All is well in Zootown. Best of luck to Duam. He has a lot going on right now. He will bounce back sooner than later I hope.

UM just seems like a perpetual dumpster fire... yet somehow, ejizzers think that the grizz are God's gift to the world...what a joke.

I agree it is a dumpster fire, but I would think that until the day I die. However, let's be honest the last two years they have killed us, so I refuse to say Stitt is an idiot or asshole until we beat them on his reign. Who knows Daum could be a complete ass, could be lazy, might be a good kid getting a bad rap, or he doesn't want to play anymore. Regardless, we are bobcat football fans, talking ****** about Missoula. As much as I hate them, it doesn't trump the fact they have been better than us the last two years. Let's talk bobcat football not about a recruit leaving missoula, for this or that.Doc3kgt wrote:UM just seems like a perpetual dumpster fire... yet somehow, ejizzers think that the grizz are God's gift to the world...what a joke.
I know it's a message board and I'm guilty myself getting caught up in talking about what I think I know and don't know in regards to football, but I don't think this is a place to bash Missoula or Daum. If someone has concrete evidence about the situation that would be different. Having read this thread it's apparent no one knows exactly what Daum's situation is.
