Also, Griz1st, I would love to hear your thoughts about the fan base in regard to Stitt. You may not be in the majority when talking about how great Stitt has been. I have talked to large number of Griz fans who are definitely wavering in their support. I think actions have a alienated a lot of fans. One long time season ticket holder told mr skipped two games this year which he has never done. Another said he might trade in his colors for blue and gold. He was definitely joking but clearly displeased with Stitt.

.........

First of all I'm not certain yet if Stitt has been great but he seemed to do alright with the cards that were dealt him this first year. The Griz fans you know are certainly a different crowd than I know. Does everyone have praise for him? Certainly not. I will say this.....as far as the direction he is going to make good things happen on the field I see a lot more support for him than I did for Mick. Don't get me wrong, everyone loved the guy but there were some similarities with Ash if you know what I mean. (yawn)

What someone said about "buying their way in" or whatever is true. Stitt does business a little different than Delaney did. That ticked off a few people, including some boosters. They just need to get used to the new normal. Stitt isn't as stubborn as some make him out to be and he wants the kids to be great on and off the field. I know several of the players and they all pretty much have the same opinion of Stitt......give it your all on and off the field and you will do fine. He means business but is the first to sit down with a player to have a one on one and discuss any concerns they have and work with them to address them, even if it means compromise.

So as far as a "large amount of Griz fans wavering in their support" I'm not certain how to take that. I guess if they/I/we are still a bit skeptical then yes. Again, I'm optimistic and only time will tell if he is going to crash this car or get it hitting on all cylinders and elevate this program to where it once was.

As I mentioned before, if the ship sinks. The Captain is most certainly the one to blame in this case. To sum it up, things are so different, on so many levels, than they have been for years prior it's gonna take a while for some Griz fans to get used to. Hopefully a better record and a deeper playoff run will get them on board. Time will tell, time will tell.
Thanks for the great post with good insight. You are correct, winning will change people's minds. Stitt is not concerned about pissing people off, which could be his downfall. Montana is too small a state to burn bridges. One stumble and he will be crucified. Like you said, only time will tell.

Again read slowly. Never said "don't buy helments".

To appease you, I tried to read slower and came to a new conclusion: you are a stubborn fool. I never claimed you said "don't buy the helmets". I simply stated that you detracted from their efforts with your own moronic agenda: too many uni combos. Is that so hard to understand? Your whined about the uniforms for a couple of day.

In this Stitt thread, you lectured us about whining. How can the champion of whiners, 77matcat, tell others to not whine?
Now you've done it. You've hurt my feelings. So I'm responding at your level, "sticks and stones.......". Oh wait I just can't.

Think your being a lil dramatic. I've been to lectures and delivered them. I only offered up a few sentences that reflected my opinion regarding the effect of complaining about anything the griz do. Obviously hurt your feelings. Sorry.

I do however appreciate your bestowing upon me the title of champion, but that title really belongs to you. Wear your crown proudly.

Roger wilco. Over and out. Remember always try to play well with others.

This all seems fair and reasonable to me. All we see is the public persona from a rival's perspective. Same could be said for what you guys saw in Ash.
