I saw this over on egriz about Stitt and the cuts being announced.

Stitt better have a plan. I'm not a fan of cutting players that have been with the system for awhile and have worked hard.
He told the team that the roster would have a new look come spring in yesterdays team meeting. What really should be talked about is the overwhelming amount of dislike the players have for this guy. The complete opposite of a players coach he treats his guys like crap.
From the presser yesterday, it sounds like Choate is a complete 180 on getting the players to buy into the system. Very glad to have him on staff at MSU.

Maybe he should come walk on over here. 6' with speed. Instead of our 5'8" or 5'10 guys It would be nice to see a 6'2" safety so we can defend the deep ball a little better.

For a guy from South Dakota he spent an awful amount of time running his mouth at Catgriz on the sidelines as MSU mounted a come back that fell short. It was funny to see both he and Straham running their mouths and then getting beat in those situations. Maybe it is their attitudes that cost them positions.

I do not know Stitt( and have refrained thus far from using the names I have for him) so I don't know what caused the players to be cut. Ability or Attitude.

The official response was chemistry.

My take is if they are good students and good kids, I say sign them up to play for us. They may even report some possible NCAA infractions that may warrant a thorough and time consuming investigation. Winky winky

You are correct, in that Parker was (allegedly) cut because of "chemistry" issues

The first post referenced was from a family member of a kid who will not be on the team much longer. Take it for what you want, or what it is worth.

I would bet that Henderson won't be playing football next year.............he won't be eligible.

I have heard there is a huge riff between the defense and offensive side for the griz. I have a very reliable source that is a family member of one of their big time recruits last year is not happy and does not like stitt. I doubt anything will come of it, such as transferring because Gregorak has had a positive influence on him but I found that interesting. It is not just that one player either, stitt does not sound like a players coach at all.

He's simply shaping his team. Mentally, physically and by their ability and willingness to perform. That's what good coaches do.

Some kids might not be happy but when you are on Stitts team you better be giving 110%. Every coach has a different approach and of course personality. Barnum, Hauck, Ash, Kramer, Delaney, Stitt. Do you look the other way when a player doesn't have their head in the game? Isn't taking care of business in the classroom or out? Isn't a team player? Doesn't fit your system? Stitt is here to build a team that is a contender for the National Championship again. Not everyone is going to like the way he does it but you won't hear many complaints if he actually succeeds in a few years.

General consensus from the players I know: To sum it up....Tough love. Coach means business but he is the first to have a sit down when someone has something they want to get off their minds and to give advice like a good coach/father does.

He is respected, maybe not appreciated by all yet but certainly respected.

You guys remember that Bobby Hauck guy???? I'm sure you do.....he wasn't very well liked by his kids either because he was a hard ass prick to them.....Stitt is the same way.

Hes just getting the kids with the ability and attitudes hes looking for. Nothing wrong with a new coach doing that. It seems like the Cats would appreciate a coach like that thinking of all the pereception and rumors of Ashs relationships with his players. Ass far as the offensive/defensive division....id say that pretty normal and even healthy for teams.

Flakey things Stitt has done since arriving.
1) Poster with him front and center.
2) Partying downtown after beating NDSU.
3) Going on the Jim Rome show and acting like he's looking to move up to FBS after just one game.
4) Not partying downtown after losing to Cal Poly.
5) Acting like we were "turning it on" late in the season because we beat ISU on a fluke and MSU.
6) Cutting a player that enrolled early. That's not flakey, that's cold.

Everything he's doing, he's doing for Bob Stitt.

Holy Moly! That's really funny. It obviously doesn't include any trademarked UM logos so it really must be all him marketing his own branded products. There's always lots of talk about how pro athletes and entertainers are focused on building their personal brands -- obviously he's bought into that as well in a HUGE way.
