I don't feel like UM is a good team. EWU has looked like crap the last 3-4 weeks. They are lucky they only lost 1 in that stretch. UM being at home, I don't think I'd bet against them. UM by 2.Blackfoot Griz wrote:Just curious who you would pick (not want) to win this game.

Re: EWU @ U of M-- who would you bet on?
Excluding ISU, Eastern has 5 wins by a combined 17 points. 3 of those are at home. They have only beat one team with a winning record and that is Northern Colorado! Opponents records for their 6 wins = 21-35. EWU is way overrated. UM is playing much better of late and being at home...AlphaGriz1 wrote:We won't be within 3 scores...............

OT at ISU is better? You are right, Ewoo is overrated, but I'll still take them by 2.LTown Cat wrote:Excluding ISU, Eastern has 5 wins by a combined 17 points. 3 of those are at home. It's a coin flip.
The Big Sky has been so wildly schizophrenic this season that I'm no longer shocked at any BSC byline. Remember how mediocre the Southland Conference was about 5 years back? That's where the BSC is this season. No elite teams and a whole lot of middling, mediocre ones...

I've got to go with UM...by a FG. EWU has not been at all impressive this season. They could easily have 2 or 3 more losses. UM obviously isn't great either...barely squeaking by ISU (thanks to their usual "Griz luck"), which might be the worst team in the conference. Playing at home though, I've got to give the edge to UM. That means if they're going to miss the playoffs, it will be up to us to knock them out.

You're picking them because they're at home? They've lost to Poly and Weber at home, but ok.John K wrote:I've got to go with UM...by a FG. EWU has not been at all impressive this season. Jordy West is just 32-63-1, 365 yards, four TDs the last two games. QB rating of 117.2. Dropped from 188 to 163. Ouch! What happened?

Re: EWU @ U of M-- who would you bet on?
Be that as it may, it's still an advantage for UM to be playing this game in Missoula, versus Cheney. I see these teams as being fairly evenly matched at this point in the season, and that being the case, I'm going to pick the home team. As gtapp said, a few weeks ago, I (along with almost everyone else) would have picked EWU to win this game easily, but they just don't seem to be a very good team anymore. I'm not sure what happened to them.[cat_bracket] wrote:You're picking them because they're at home? They've lost to Poly and Weber at home, but ok.John K wrote:I've got to go with UM...by a FG. Yep, it is. It's a road conference win and those can be tough to come by regardless of the opponent--just ask MSU this year...onceacat wrote:OT at ISU is better? That and winning 2 of 3 does tell me they are playing better. Yes, they got housed by PSU, but so has almost everyone this year. They pounded a UND team that beat MSU. We were talking at work about 2 weeks ago and I made the comment that MSU may not win another game and that I could see UM winning out. I still find that to be well within the realm of possibility.

Yep...that is very possible. Although, while I'm as discouraged as anyone right now, I'm still hopeful about beating ISU...not feeling great about our chances in Cat-Griz though.LTown Cat wrote:Yep, it is. I'm in the same boat--would feel better if this week was in Bozeman though.John K wrote:Yep...that is very possible. Re: EWU @ U of M-- who would you bet on?
I think you guys beat ISU by 14 to 17 and we lose by 10. I expected 6-5, 5-6 this year for the griz. I was alright with it. I think being on a quarterback that is playing his 3rd or 4th game at this point (gus or simis) plays against the griz the last 2 games. I feel this system is so stunted by the offensive line and quarterback injuries that we really wont see what type of offense we can have till next year, or even later.
Long story short, EWU this weekend.

EW has gone cold the last 3-4 weeks. The Griz win this one by 10 points. Let Kupp get his yards, but don't let him score. Turn EW into a Red Zone team where the D is bunched up and the Griz D should do well.

This is easy, EWU. This is a 2-3 score game, probably a 35-20 type score.
