Craig Bohl arrived in Fargo in 2003 and replaced Bob Babich who is now the defensive coordinator of the Jacksonville Jaguars. He won right away, as expected, going 8-3. But then things started to slip a little. 7-4 in 2005 losing to the Bobcats 20-17. Back to winning, going 10-1 in each of the next two seasons. And then slippage again...6-5 in 2008. 3-8 in 2009. The hounds were howling. There was genuine concern in Fargo. He pulled it together, going 9-5 overall in 2010 and made the playoffs, beating the Bobcats 42-17. The Bobcat defense was out-muscled. After that it was pink clouds and blue skies. National Championships forever more and on to Wyoming.
So what happened with Bohl in '08 and '09? Better yet, what happened with Bohl after '09? Same haircut, same grin.
There are examples of this kind of "slippage" all over the place. Stick around long enough and there are usually some tough seasons coming. But a couple of bad seasons only made Bohl better. I'm looking forward to seeing what our coach Ash does and how he goes about getting back on course.

Might be one of the best, eye opening posts I've ever seen. You just never know. Look at the PSU coach. Nobody in a million years would have predicted that guy would have that team playing at this high of a level right now. Crazy.

It shouldn't be to much of a surprise that Bruce Barnum has PSU playing the best ball in the BSC. He is after all an EWU Alum where he played his Football as a middle LB!

Just a few years ago it was all of Jim Sweeney's kids coaching and now it's EWU's turn to impact college football. Wish I could hit the lottery because your school with a decent stadium, your beautiful setting and fishing could be the biggest show in the Spokane area.

Coach Bohl has three games remaining this year and only one win this season...vs. Nevada. He could win one more, slight possibility of two and definitely not three. He won four last year, his first at Wyo. This, the second, is the so called "transition"...... the "forgiveness" year when coaches are finalizing the make-over. 2016 all bets are off. Wyoming plays their normal Mt. West conference foes plus non conference Nebraska, UC Davis, Eastern Michigan and Northern Illinois. No. Illinois is decent (6-3) with very close losses to Boston College and Ohio State. Nebraska? So two of the non-conference games are there to be won. He'd better win three more.
