Get with the conference or don't. Can't have it both ways. Agree? UM kicked but on BSC All-Academic awards, and you say it's meaningless?

What a moron. I actually have an MBA from Missoula. You still won't find me rooting for the Griz though because of fans like you. You make ridiculous statements yet you have no idea what you are talking about. You claim to know everything but you really don't know much. Unfortunately, a large percentage of Griz fans are just like you. It makes it easy to not like the Grizzlies. You make it easy to dislike the Grizzlies. This topic is a classic example. Hey Cats fans, look at our brand new facility that Uncle Denny's kids built for us.

Same reason that Eastern always has a bunch and Cal Poly has so few.

It can't hurt to be the leader, regardless of the reasons offered by those in the middle of back of the pack. On the field. On the court. In the classroom. The rest are free to submit excuses. Agree?

Leaders don't have to go on their rivals board to plead their case of importance.

I have no rivals, as I'm already on record as a fan of both the Griz and the Cats. Check my game thread posts if you doubt. That said, I've only posted the facts when utter B.S. had been attempted to be thrown. And you're not one of the BS'ers, Hawks86. You're a straight shooter.

This doesn't bother me. The pass rate is a little higher than the national average, but I have no problem with weeding out the bottom feeders. Do you?

Are you saying the pass rate for the PE test is better for College of Engineering grads? I don't think it's a reason for embarrassment of it's not.

Or pass rate for CPA for College of Business grads, compared to national average?

Somehow this thread has ebbed and flowed from people saying UM has no respectable football tradition, to people saying UM is only a football factory with no legitimate academic programs, to ... regardless of the flip-flopping, the target keeps moving but UM is in the cross-hairs every time. It's funny. No one wants to acknowledge that both MSU and UM are fine universities with fine athletic programs and fine academic programs. Why so defensive?

How much have you drank tonight? Your arguments are all over the place. You do realize that this BOBCAT Nation right?? You take shots at MSU and then brag up UM??? I'm sure that is exactly why we come to this board. We want to read your Griz crap. Of course UM is in the cross hairs... You say Hawks86 is a straight shooter and even he alluded to the fact that you are on the wrong board. Dont you see the irony in that?

Before I forget, did you take a math refresher to determine if 33% is higher than 5%? Maybe do a little research on time value of money?

Because some asshat fans came to a rival website to rub crap on the noses of their closest geographic rival. Crowing of an impending improvement to facilties the school can ill afford at this time! Your enrollment is plummeting, value of education dropping like a rock, (read this carefully, your degree programs on average aren't justifying the cost!) The U is the classic example of the tail wagging the dog. Enrollment is sagging, so let's spend a bunch of money on a sports project that won't be used by the average student yet will further separate the purpose of the institution from its intended goal of educating the community, state and region. By the way, congrats on your superiority, your marvelous new center and your continued indifference to logic. Go away now, your stinking the place up!

The entire profit on the construction job was the gift in both Martel's and Washington's case. We're talking two renovations worth in Bozeman. If you don't think it was worth $1 million (same as Washington's gift in the UM stadium construction), then you apparently don't think.

There are no unique sugar daddies in Missoula. Bozeman gots 'em too. The stadium in Missoula seated 13,000 when it opened and was expanded to almost 26,000 through season-ticket revenue, not gifts.
Apparently they don't make you take a finance class in Missoula to graduate. You are aware that $1 million in 1985 is considerably more than $1 million in 2010? That is a difference of 25 years... It is called Time Value of Money. Your initial stadium construction cost of $3 million yielded 12,000 seats of which Denny put in $1 million. That is one third if you also missed math class. Please show us where Martel did something on that magnitude.

By the way, I referenced a news article about the initial cost and contribution by Denny. You were kind enough to post some message board fodder, but it probably is not as accurate as the Missoulian. There is no question that Martel has donated money, but to put him in the same category as Washington is laughable.

Do you really think the Griz would be in the state they are today if Uncle Denny did not pony up one third of the stadium cost? This all happened after a decade of failed fundraising, poor football teams and a push eliminate athletics at U of M.

I can't comment on the Kenya/Hawaii issue. Afraid that we don't get the liberal education you guys do in Missoula.
Washington "gifted" or donated one-third of the seats of a 13,000-seat stadium. Do the math.

Our end zone project was a net increase of about 4500 seats.

Yes. Good comparison. It provides perspective for people who say Washington "gave" UM a stadium. His gift was roughly equivalent in seating terms to your end zone project. In other words, UM paid the bill on more than 21,000 seats of Washington-Grizzly Stadium, or more seats than the total capacity of Bobcat Stadium. So much for the sugar daddy myth. Next.

I am afraid that dark pink kool aid you are drinking has affected your brain. Washington donated $1 million toward the cost of a $3 million stadium (1985 dollars). That stadium does not happen without his contribution. Read the article from the Missoulian celebrating 25 years. It is crystal clear. The new Athletics center had a $7 million donation from the Washingtons. Do you really think the Griz are where they are today without their support? You might actually not even have football today if he didn't step up and make it a reality in 1984. Why don't you care for the sugar daddy? Did he steal your girlfriend? Make a pass at your mom.

Now you are making stuff up. I wish we had 20 Martels. That's is about how many we would to need to equal one Uncle Denny. So did Denny steal your girlfriend?
