How about that Georgia Southern pass defense! Texas State threw for about 450 yards with about five touchdowns and I don't think the DB's were within 10 yards of any of the receivers when they caught the touchdowns. The QB just stood back there and tossed the ball to anyone he wanted. The announcers said he's a pro prospect but I could throw the passes he did today! I think we could beat either of these two teams. They racked up 1200 yards of offense between them.

I know we though the Cats should have made the playoffs, but was the Big Sky that good. The Friz and the Eagles lost today. Not a good showing for the Big Sky.
The NCAA needs to find a better way of ranking teams and stop having regional pairings. Expand the playoff to 24 teams and give the top 8 teams a bye.

Everyone knows the griz were drastically overrated, and as we found out a couple years ago, Eastern got sent into one of the toughest places to play in the country. They put up a hell of a fight, and probably blew a game they should have won. In reality, Eastern got screwed by not getting a home game. MSU belonged in there, and I think even more strongly today that we are one of the top 8 teams in the country. Oh well, that is purely conjecture. Great job by the selection committee, though, as today's games can attest to.
I also like the idea of expanding the field to 24 teams, giving the top 8 a first-round bye.

Spot on, I think we were all overrated this year by virtue of the Griz playing Oregon, and strong showings by you guys and Portland State against Ok State, Boise State, and Oregon State. The computers had us up, but reality slapped us all down.BobCatFan wrote:I know we though the Cats should have made the playoffs, but was the Big Sky that good. The Friz and the Eagles lost today. The real joke though is the MEAC getting a ****** seed outta this disaster of a season!

Well, the fact is the Griz WERE overrated all year but Eastern gave NIU a game at their house.
Poly was in perfect position to knock off the Griz, given that they'd already given them a good game back in October and the WaGriz effect meant little yesterday.
Had the Griz played Georgia Southern or Texas St. or any other team unfamiliar with WaGriz, I bet the Griz would still be alive today...
Both Big Sky teams were at least competitive in their games yesterday, and while I know Laugheryet had a lead at halftime against App. St., obviously Appy took care of business in the 2nd half, 24-6.

Grizzlies: 2-5 when it matters most
