Whats interesting is that Lafayette is nowhere on that list. I suspect you would have to travel pretty far down to find them, then you have YSU sitting at #12.

It's also surprising that MSU is tied with an undefeated, seeded team.
GO CATS!
It's always a good day to be a Bobcat fan!

My name is Steve, if you'd like to know.

I always liked Jeff Sagarin's power rating approach; can't say I fully understand it, but here's his as of Nov 19th:
Appalachian State 65.77
Texas State 64.42
New Hampshire 63.48
Eastern Washington 63.07
Illinois State 63.01
Montana 62.73
Cal Poly 62.38
ND State 61.64
S Illinois 61.04
Nicholls State 61.01
Youngstown State 60.84
Georga Southern 60.83
Montana State 60.49
Northern Iowa 59.95
Portland State 59.66
Mass 59.13
UC Davis 58.24
Richmond 58.14
Furman 57.95
James Madison 57.81
Hampton 56.85
That's enough - Sagarin takes in strength of schedule and location of the game. Add 3 points to the home team and Sagarin says, if I'm reading him correctly, Montana is favored by 4 points over Cal Poly. (That's what Sportsnetwork says too.) And Eastern Washington and Northern Iowa should go into overtime in a tie.
We'll see what happens.
GO BIG SKY TEAMS!!!

We're the #1 conference that could very easily have no teams in the second round.
The devil made me do it the first time... the second time I done it on my own.

Old Wise One stated the team who beat the #1 GPI team usually moved up 10 points. I looked for myself and found that generally to be true. The Cats only moved up about 4 points. Montana dropped 3. The books are cooked--much like the gov't's inflation numbers. Cats probably won't be ranked next year in preseason polls due to Lulay graduating but I'm sure Montana will be ranked in the top 3 even though they lost today. Go figure. But that is fine. Rankings don't do the Cats anygood. Just go out next year and show why every team above us in the polls is over-rated. , Good job Cal Poly!! Go Eastern.
