What does Coach Kramer Know?
From yesterdays Missoulian
The connection between Big Sky Conference co-coaches of the year Mike Kramer of Montana State and Paul Wulff of Eastern Washington is obvious. Kramer gave Wulff his first collegiate job, at Eastern in 1993.
But Kramer said his vote for the honor went elsewhere: To Hauck.
“What (Hauck) and his staff have done this year is pretty darned amazing,” Kramer told the Bozeman Daily Chronicle. “Because of their youth and their injuries, they've had a gamut of guys play for them and they've held it together, without marquee all-Americans.”

Anybody selling time shares needs to contact EastCoastGriz. I think you've got a definate mark right there.
Kramer's Cats go out and totally humiliate Hauck's nationally-ranked team, then he tells the media what a great job Bobby has done, while he has his fingers crossed behind his back...........and YOU BUY INTO IT! HaHaHaHaHaHaHa !!!!

What Krammer is saying is that Montana did not have great talent and they had a Freshman QB that was out of his water. With that group, Hauck actually coached and got them into the playoffs. The talent on the Griz isn't what is has been (overpowering). They have come back to the pack and will be next year. Coaching awards are for coaching, not for having the very best players/team and winning despite the coaching.
Krammer also by casting his vote for Hauck (instead of the EWU coach) got co-honors for himself.

So now I am confused. Did vote for Hauck because he thought he deserved it or to help himself with the balloting?BobcatLionFan wrote:What Krammer is saying is that Montana did not have great talent and they had a Freshman QB that was out of his water. I'm sure he thought Coach Hauck deserved it. Coach Kramer doesn't seem like the type who gets too hung up on postseason individual awards.Eastcoastgriz wrote:So now I am confused. You never know with Kramer! He was probably sincere in this instance but he says many things just for the effect.Eastcoastgriz wrote:So now I am confused. exactly my point, gtapp. In fact, Kramer says MOST things to the media just for effect. He's the master at hyperbole.
Isn'y it funny that moost Griz fans think Hauck stinks as a coach, and Kramer thinks he is the best in the Big Sky? All this, after Kramer's team pummeled Bobby's team in every aspect of the game less than a week ago? If you can't see the "tongue in cheek" in Kramers quotes, you are an easy mark, my friend.

I agree with your assessments of Kramer's media savvy. I just don't think he would vote for Hauck, or whoever he actually voted for, based on how it would affect his standing in the final tally.Wolfman wrote:exactly my point, gtapp. In fact, Kramer says MOST things to the media just for effect. food for thought...every head coach thought bh was deserving of the coy award until the cats spanked the griz so thoroughly last week...some coaches still thought bh did well and deserved a ballot being thrown his way and kramer thought he was deserving...hence the vote by kramer...
i personally think bh is a mediocre coach on his best day...even with that handicap the griz pulled wins out of their collective plumbers cleavage...i think that speaks well for the defensive assistants...and to an extent special teams and offence...bh hired them so he gets the vote...hence the vote by kramer...oh well
i do like wolf's spin on the intrigue aspect of the award tho...

Look, do I have to spell it out for ya? If Kramer votes for Wulff, Paul wins unopposed and Kramer gets nothing. So, Kramer casts a meaningless vote for Hauck (knowing it will be the ONLY vote Bobby gets), and cleaverly allows himself to be voted co-coach-of-the-year. Shouldn't be too difficult to figure out, unless those maroon colored glasses need cleaning.
Look at the facts. Kramer's Cats are destroyed by Wulff's team. Kramer's Cats destroy Bobby's team. Now, why would he vote for Bobby as coach of the year?

How would coach Kramer know how all of the other coaches were going to vote?Wolfman wrote:Look, do I have to spell it out for ya? I'll tell you why Kramer voted for Hauck, because he will be in a similar position to Hauck next year and wants to make it known that it ain't always easy breaking in a new QB and a bunch of new WRs. Which is exactly the predicament the Cats will be in next yer. Lulay, Gatewood, Murray, Miller, and Guinn will all be gone.

Kramer has had a lot of success against the Griz as far as big sky coaches go. He is 3 of 4 in the last 4 years and he beat them when he coached Eastern Wa once. Don't pick me apart cat fans when I make this next statement. Kramer is a good coach who knew (knows) how to beat the best team (one of), and yet, he never got to see any of the post season accolades, except for one year, when he did beat the Griz. I'm not trying to start crap either. All that I am trying to say is Kramer, no matter how stupid his quotes are, or how memorible on the good side they are, he knows how to coach against the Griz. He had a little help from Lulay obviously, but the man has outcoached Hauk at least during one game of the season. A game that has often really not proven to matter nationally, but in Montana it's everything.

Where's the evidence "most Griz fans think Hauck stinks as a coach"? You're free to state your own opinion, but please don't presume the majority of Griz fans listen to the echo chamber that passes for your brain.Wolfman wrote:exactly my point, gtapp. In fact, Kramer says MOST things to the media just for effect.
