Re: How many years...
Look, in no way shape or form was my intent with this thread, to state he should go up or that one game makes him deserve to go up. What I was trying to say is if there is an AD who's job is on the line, perhaps gets a little desperate, and makes an offer based on one game + a little more. If the game was a fluke and the griz hit .500 or worse then no way. Buy if they get to 8 or 9 wins or better with a playoff win, then I could see the offer being made. No since griznationalist is his buddy and goes to have beers with him once a week, then he I guess knows, that Stitt ain't leaving anytime soon. jk...jk.
Man last week I used "bae", this week I throw down a few jk's. I should be in timeout for those.

That's a very good question. I don't pay that much attention to women's bb, so I don't know if his name every pops up in searches.
I'm not saying it doesn't happen where people choose comfort and stablility over money. It just doesn't happen as often as people jumping for more money.

Again....it's one game. You'll love him again if we lose to CP by 30. Am I right?
You're dead wrong.....I want him to lose by 45

Bingo.[cat_bracket] wrote:No. I'm basing this on all the attention he's getting nationally from other coaches and the media. I don't recall another situation like it. He's a hot commodity right now and the win over NDSU was just icing. Sure if he stumbles, I'll change my tune, but if um wins its next two, it could easily roll to 8-0. He'd have to lose his last three to take the startch out. Not likely. The whole country is falling in love with guy. Schools needing a coach will find him hard to pass up because they don't want to be "the school that passed on Stitt"GRIZ1STCATS2ND wrote:I just think it's funny a few months ago most of you thought he was a decent guy and not a threat now you're on you're knees praying his time at UofM will be short lived.

Agreed. He'd be nuts not to jump at any reasonable offer north of 400k. Look at Hauck. We can laugh at the move to UNLV, but if all of his kids got into Harvard he wouldn't lose any sleep over paying the tuition. That can't be said for the Montana head coach making 120 - 150.lutecat wrote:tampa_griz wrote:Has Robin Selvig ever been offered at the higher level? I honestly don't know.

Re: How many years...
I agree with you completely, and that's why I've always doubted the rumors that he's declined multiple FBS opportunities. Just as an OC, even at a lower level FBS school, at a bare minimum he probably would have doubled what he was being paid by Colorado Mines. As an OC at a bigger program, or as a HC at a lower tier FBS, his income would have been at least 3-5 times what he was making there.tampa_griz wrote:Agreed. This thread is rich entertainment. Nothing would be more boring than reading posts from a bunch of guys who actually know what they're talking about. I'm not sure which is my favorite, the dude who says he knows a bunch of head coaches personally and he knows how coaches think, or the dude who says he knows that Stitt is only money-driven. Keep it up! I'm making more popcorn and will be back in a minute.

And then you will again be happy he is our DII no name coach? I worry about the weekends game, Cal Poly, not where coach will be in four years. You don't have to worry about either.lutecat wrote:GRIZ1STCATS2ND wrote:I just think it's funny a few months ago most of you thought he was a decent guy and not a threat now you're on you're knees praying his time at UofM will be short lived.

Or you straight up making stuff up. Noone said those things. You're taking a lot if poetic licence there. Sad you couldn't win an argument on merit.....Griznationalist wrote:This thread is rich entertainment. Re: How many years...
The Stitt hype is in full effect here in Portland. A 10-minute segment about Stitt and a few other "innovative" coaches on the drive home on our #1 (out of four) sports' talk station.
I won't be surprised if this is a let-down game against Cal-Poly.

He made up things in the game thread, too. For some reason, Griznationalist needs our validation. One game in and the Griz fans here are acting like they have the title wrapped up this year, and their coach is the best in the conference.lutecat wrote:Or you straight up making stuff up. I won't be surprised either. Their offense stuck it to us pretty good last year and our defense was better.PapaG wrote:The Stitt hype is in full effect here in Portland. You've been the most entertaining part of this board the last few days! Your posts have been very... innovative. So thanks for that!Griznationalist wrote:This thread is rich entertainment. All in good fun. Not to be taken too seriously. Always in a friendly spirit of rivalry banter. Kind of in a virtual beer joint sort of way.91catAlum wrote:You've been the most entertaining part of this board the last few days! Your posts have been very... innovative. I was just driving to a meeting, turned on Jim Rome, and I hear "joining me now is Montana coach Bob Stitt."
Rome interviewed him for 10 minutes.
Damn it.

I might be a terrible person for thinking this, but I hope they just Stitt their pants against Cal Poly, and get blown out of Wa-Griz.PapaG wrote:I was just driving to a meeting, turned on Jim Rome, and I hear "joining me now is Montana coach Bob Stitt."
