All Griz games against unseeded teams are at Washington Grizzly stadium, as the NCAA selection criteria are based on attendance and bid amount, and no team currently in the playoffs comes close to Washington Grizzly's attendance. It's the NCAA that set the criteria, so lobby them for a change.
If the 'Cats would like to increase attendance, then I suggest that 4,000 individuals commit to season tickets for the next four years at $150 per year. That will give the athletic deparmtent sufficent funds to contruct an expansion where those fans can sit. Until then, quit your complaining.
That's not complaining, it's the truth.

How many times must somebody say this....
Of course we got a home game because of money!!!! If all you bobcat fans are complaining then how bout you get more people in your stadium and then you might build a tradition that will get you into the playoffs year after year. You might be right about MSu being better than us this year as a TEAM but the Ncaa doesnt care about how good you are, they care about wins and losses and mose imporantly the 23000 fans that pack Wash-Griz every game
Go Griz

I don't think it's so much building as re-kindling MSU's football tradition. Has Montana done incredible things over the past 20 years? Sure they have and Griz fans should be proud. But prior to 1986, it'd be hard to argue MSU wasn't the school with more "tradition" with 7 Big Sky Conference and 3 National titles, compared to 3 and 0 for the Griz, respectively. My point isn't to be critical of Montana's success but to point out that we as Bobcat fans should be just as proud of our program.Swilly3224 wrote:How many times must somebody say this....

Everything goes in cycles and there's going to be a day when the Griz aren't in the playoffs. Hopefully, MSU will be in a position to pick up the mantle.
Wow, are you really lobbying for a 7-4 team to HOST a playoff game over an 8-3 team??? Tell me you have some basis in fact for this...And remember, EWU beat an NAIA team too so they are really only 6-4 in Div 1 football...The Griz are 7-3...lifeloyalsigmsu wrote:So, yes, it was all $$$ because if there wasn't that variable in the equation, EWU would be playing at home and UM wouldn't.theblackgecko wrote:Griz: 3-1 against I-AA competition, and a loss to a top ten I-A squad.WeedKillinCat wrote:I think THIS YEAR the Griz didn't EARN a home game. I would argue that MSU deserves a home game before EWU...

I can't believe we're still even debating this. Yes, we man-handled the Griz. Yes, I personally think we are a better overall team than the Griz right now - but we were too inconsistent throughout the season. They didn't get it done against us or Eastern, but they DID get it done against PSU and CP. We had 3 D1 losses, they only had 2. Now, if they would have lost to Sac State AND us, and then made the playoffs ahead of us, and don't think that couldn't have happened! Than I would be REALLY pi$$ed right now. As it is though, they deserve to be there more than us based on the entire season...

Great time to be a BOBCAT!

oh - i like how the griz may schedule Carroll next year. had to wait until their star graduated before attempting this one.

Thanks for the debate.
I have two gentlemen that work for me that play for the griz right now. They totatly understand my point of view. They are the same in they have two favorite teams: the griz and whoever is playing the CATS. I consider these guys to be good friends and respect them immensly, but they know that in my eyes, they suit up for the dark side.
It will not suprise them in the least to see me at the game with a CAL POLY sweatshirt on. I am going to the game this weekend becasue I was given two tickets. I hope CAL POLY kills the griz. I do not know if CP can get it done, hopefully MSU gave them the blueprint.

Have heard from many cat fans what a great honor it is to be BSC co-champs. Why isn't it good for the GRIZ also?

how does it feel to get man handled by a team that isn't going to the post season? how's that working for ya?
i was also wondering: did you go to the Oregon and EWU boards after the games the griz lose and tell them how great you are in an effort to feel better? just curious since it is REALLY old (only 72 hours removed) and pathetic.

I suppose not, I was jsut pointing out that as big of an advantage of playing at home for the griz is, it darn near didn't work so well this year. could it be that the griz are just not a good team this year.
If you like to talk about close wins for the CATS, 16-6 will look like a close game on paper in 20 years, but for those of us that were there, we will always know that is was a flat out A$$ WHIPPING.

Vs. Cal Poly, and with the W already this season, that logic simply would favor the game to be in Missoula.
Along the same lines, why does EWU, in essence the outright conference winner with their defeating the other 2 BSC co-champs, have to play on the road in what is one of the harder venues to win in Northern Iowa?
There is a process for unranked teams to host a playoff game. Did EWU out bid Northern Iowa? I think not.
Had playoff teams been ranked , we probable would have had a higher ranking than EWU, so the outcome would have been simular. Sorry there is no travisity here. The recent history and $$$ obviously decided this travesty. If you had the ability to remain objective with this question, don't you think EWU should be playing at home while the griz should be on the road this coming week?

Sucks, but can't be near as bad as staying home after man handling a team thats still playing!
