What does a bobcat sound like?

Post by Bozgriz » Tue Nov 22, 2005 1:30 pm

OK, I know this will end up being a huge fight and smack board material coming up but I really want to know why the Cats play a mountain lion or cougar roar during the games...I am positive that a true bobcat "hisses" and makes a noise nothing like either of the large cats mentioned above.

Any theories? :?

Because a roar sounds better than a hiss, and most people don't know the difference? Either way, it's still better than that awful sound EWU plays on a first down.

Bobcats do in fact hiss, but Montana State Bobcats roar on first down!

I know, the sound effect isn't perfect, but it is effective.

Even my 2, 3, and 4 year olds know that the Bobcats roar and the Grizzlies say "owie, owie, owie, don't hurt me tough Bobcats."

Doesn't sound like a hiss to me.

Actually, that one wouldn't be a bad sound effect to use.

I don't know. That kind of sounds like me this past Sunday morning after eating too many stuffed peppers and drinking too much beer.

I'm with you on the sound system. It needs a SubWoofer in the worst way and a few more speakers to ROCK the house.

BTW: I too LIKE the Kmax Bobcat wav!!! Kmax Kmax Kmax- you the man!! 8)
