I cannot and will not ever root for the griz! I want all of the states best players to want to go to MSU and for the griz to have to go and find the kids that we "DON'T want".
I AM DARN PROUD TO BE A BOBCAT. IMHO cheering for the griz in ANY circumstance in not being a good BOBCAT.
In the spirit of this argument, I have always been of the mindframe that the Cats are my favorite team then the other I-AA favorite of mine is whomever lines up against um.
I used to buy into the cheer for the Montana boys thing even when they're griz players. As I've gotten older, my loyalties have cemented even more and my distaste for the rival has increased.
In high school I cheered for both teams. While at MSU (1993-1998), I cheered the Cats every week and the griz when we weren't playing them. Now, I cheer for the Cats week in and week out and look forward to a griz loss each week. In my experience, how I cheer has been directly influenced by the increasing arrogant nature of their fans over the past 10 years. Yes, it's the bad apples that have fed that feeling, but even my close friends who cheer for the other team know and respect where I stand.

Missing the point Weed....it is what we have done over the last 13 years that EARNED us the home game. I know that is hard for you Cat fans to relate to but if you have a program like ours you will be rewarded. And don't tell me that you are all a little jealous of that!!

nice deflection off of the present. doesn't work for me (i can dig up old lists too) - but i hope it helps you with your grief of the lose.
now i might get in trouble with a few around here, but i actually pull for the griz most of the time. heck, some of the players have been my friends and neighbors - why wouldn't i? oh yeah - fans like you.
i hope you list helps you feel better about a team that was truly exposed on saturday. Sac State played the Cats better then the griz (check that history out) and don't think Cal Poly doesn't see that. i'm not a football expert but if you line up against lex and stop him, there is nothing left for the griz o other then hoping that the d can score.
focus on the now grasshopper....

No, I don't and have never confused the arrogance griz fans have with the truth that the players they support are good.
It's people like you who create the dislike.

Well my first game was in 1987...sitting the grass in the south endzone...been to most games ever since.
And it might appear that I am pissed off...I'm not. I usually just sit back and read the boards and don't say anything....however everything on this thread this morning, I've had a legit agrument for so I thought I would sound off a little. I'm not trying to be mean natured....just trying to put some thinngs in perspective that the Cats fans have a hard time admitting.
A good debate is always healthy!!
GO GRIZ!!

With the way the Griz have played this year (third in the conference), explain to us how they should earn a home playoff game over Eastern. Leave out the history and $$$ and attendance..........

That is why we have a home game...that & we are not playing a seeded team. There is NO other answer to your question.
My argument for us having a home game has been our history...that is our reward building the program we have. The Griz have had better years on the Gridiron, but we are playing Cal Poly & we did beat them...so why do you think we shouldn't be playing at home.
