topic = a cat fan trying to tell me about passionate fans. what a joke.MSU Toddler wrote:topic = you being bitter (talking about goal posts, then capacity . . . ramblings about what?)
1984?
how about 2005?
then it went from there
that goal post question wasn't smack -- it was serious.
2005? cats beat the griz. cats at home for the playoffs. griz not. cats tear down goalposts anyway.

pathetic . . . they were pictures to enjoy, but you decided to do something about that. you're bitter - sorry can't help you.
hey - i've got an idea to figure out who has the best team. why don't we let them play head to head instead of talking about playoffs, capacity, passion, etc and see who wins?
oops, already did that.
CATS - 16
Griz - 6

Haven't you run out of tears yet?tacoma_griz wrote:what is bobcat stadium capacity?
oddly enough three games (sfa, north dakota state, and nau) said the games attendance was 13,327 (sources msu athletics and nau athletics)
is that really a sellout? idaho state was 14,127
i could not find what sac state was.
by the way congrats on the win saturday.way to defend your fickle fan base.

tacoma -
congrats on your lose (see i can grasp that - can you?) and the griz for their playoff game (really!).
i would love to pull for the griz, but when "fans" like you resort to tired old banter (coming to the Cat board and slinging crap after a lose?) - it makes it tough. it is really sorta sad . . .
done with this little game...

Tacoma,tacoma_griz wrote:serious question
why tear down the goal posts? the season is over.....and you expect griz fans not to believe your season revolves around the griz?
You say you asked a serious question. So, I'll try to answer it from my personal viewpoint.
Why tear down the goal posts? One, it wasn't planned. Two, it was done by college-aged fans who were jubilant over a big victory over our rival. I'm going to guess you are past college age. But, did you not do anything spontaneous, perhaps questionable during your times at (I presume) UM?
I was right at the goal post when the first people got up on it. As it started to come down, I wasn't exactly pleased about it. But, people were celebrating and it just happened.
Isn't the rivalry game supposed to be a huge game? It is for Ohio State/Michigan, it is for the apple cup, it is for the civil war. Why would we not be ecstatic that we just beat you? Would it have been better for us to just file out of the stadium emotionless?
Our program is catching up to yours. On this day, we were the better team and we beat you soundly. Do not, again I say, do not think for a second that we revolve our entire season around the Griz game. We wanted a playoff spot this year. We wanted to host a playoff game. As this team continues to improve, we expect those things to happen. You are going to need to find something else to nitpick because it's a new day and, while the Cat/Griz will always remain a huge game, it is no longer a measuring stick for a successfull season in this program by itself. It is simply one part of it. And, if you think it's not for the Griz, you are completely kidding yourself.
When you start lowering your comments to things like this or questioning our attendance it makes you appear bitter and petty.
The official release from the MSU athletics office was that we sold out every game this year but the Sac State game. Why question it any further? We feel we need to expand the stadium both to attract more fans and to use as a tool to help further the program along. I expect to see our fan base continue to grow from statewide support as well as locally from all of the people who are moving to the area.
Coach K has stimulated excitement and fan base growth in this program. He works hard in travelling to Billings, Great Falls, Butte every single week to meet with quarterback club boosters. This will continue to energize the fan base which will justify the larger seating capacity.
And, who knows, maybe we'll find our own Dennis Washington who will donate the money needed to do what we want. I don't say this with malice as I think that was a tremendous thine he did for Griz athletics. But, to look down upon others and their stadium just because yours is the best in the land is elitist.

tacoma: If you are sincerely looking to clothe yourself in more knowledge (as you clearly came to this party underdressed), the capacity of the stadium is 13,327. They only fit more in the stadium when they haul in temporary bleachers and sell standing room only tickets in the grass corners.
They sold every ticket and filled the stadium for every game except one, as you have been taught repeatedly.
It's true ... you were wrong, and in a big way.

my apologies for the doubting of the sellouts. i thought bobcat stadium capacity was well more than 13,000 -- somewhere around 15,000 is what i was assuming.
montana state has certainly made great leaps and strides but, once again, to try to teach griz fans about passion is ridiculous.
it is good to see msu growing and making a good look for i-aa and the big sky especially, this is something that is lacking in the other schools such as sacramento and portland state. granted they are in big areas with major i-a teams around them but it's still not a good look.
it's very tough for a griz fan to believe, or other fans for that matter, that your season doesn't revolve around montana. yes the griz always have montana state circled on their calendar, there's no denying that -- especially since the streak ended. the playoff aspirations and contention every year give the fans more to talk about -- when it seems that all the discussion going on over here is either directed about bobcat athletics or anti-griz. no exceptions.
