Eric Curry strikes again
Incompetent fool missed a flagrant 1 call that would have given EWU 2 shots and the ball plus missing a number of calls. How does he have a job?
Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.

Re: Eric Curry strikes again
I thought I was going crazy...do I just see Eric Curry in every white haired, incompetent ref?

To me that was the turning point in the game. EWU had great momentum and then it switched from there. I had EWU winning....Oh Wellgrizzh8r wrote:Incompetent fool missed a flagrant 1 call that would have given EWU 2 shots and the ball plus missing a number of calls. How does he have a job?

Re: Eric Curry strikes again
It sure was. Georgetown went on something like an 18-4 run at that point. Shortly after the missed flagrant there was a phantom call on Drew Brandon that was odd too. Looked like an EWU player got shoved out of bounds on the play (I don't have a replay vid of that unfortunately) then the whistle blew. Was sure it was going to be a foul on Georgetown but nope.WeedKillinCat wrote:To me that was the turning point in the game. EWU had great momentum and then it switched from there. If you watch the replay of the flagrant that should have been called it looks like Harvey twisted his ankle on that play too right as he travels. Apparently that's what was bothering him earlier in the season.
I watched the game live on ncaa.com, then the replay they showed a few times while discussing it and thought for sure it was going to be at least a flagrant 1. The announcers were debating whether it should be a 1 or a 2. It was shocking when the refs didn't even think it was a flagrant 1. Well...come to think of it, Curry was involved so not too shocking I guess. They even reviewed it and still decided not to call it.
The smack across the chest was bad enough to warrant a flagrant, but the hip thrust after hitting him seemed to make it even more obvious it should have been called. That was ALL after the whistle had blown already for the travel too. The NCAA national coordinator of men’s basketball officiating said it should have been a technical foul. He talked about how the refs screwed up and also charged EWU with a timeout at the same time.
In the video below it looks like he may be going over to help Harvey up afterwards, but nope. When it happened he walked by Harvey and picked up the basketball instead... Total ****** move on his part. So glad they got knocked out by Utah in the 2nd round.

Don't let this distract you from the fact that the griz blew a 22-0 lead.

Re: Eric Curry strikes again
Yep, that makes it even worse. The announcers sure though it was a flagrant and were discussing whether it was a 1 or a 2.hokeyfine wrote:it didn't get missed. Curry actually reviewed the play on the monitored and decided no call
Really wonder what was going through the reffing crew's heads when it was reviewed...
"Nope, nothing wrong there. He was probably just trying to give him a congratulatory hug for making it to the tournament...and then maybe hump his leg... no foul though!"
Then to make matters worse they charged EWU with a timeout after that. I guess because Hayford wanted it reviewed?
As the NCAA national coordinator of men’s basketball officiating said... it wasn't one of their finer moments.
