Okay, the the final time ... the Griz did NOT buy up all of the season tickets in the endzone! Many of the tickets in the endzone are the ones set aside for UM to buy for the game (per the standing agreement between the schools to provide blocks of tickets to the other school in excess of the conference standard allotment). I was told by people at MSU that season tickets in that section were sold only to people who also had season tickets in that section last year (and many fewer were sold in that section this year because of the block needed for Cat/Griz). So unless a Griz fan had season tickets in that section last season, it's unlikely they were able to buy them in that section this season.
Let's please, please kill this urban legend about Griz fans buying season tickets at MSU this season. The season tickets sold this year were, almost exclusively, purchased by Bobcat fans.

you walk out of the stadium on pavement and can go all the way to the street which even in Bozeman are paved. Then you can walk to your car at a number of paved parking lots. The tailgate section isn't but it was your choice where to park. Also, I think they shoot off a cannon at UM also but with the offense not scoring much this year you must have forgotten about it by now.

They opened up an extra gate (hasn't been opened all season) near the endzone bleachers exiting to the tailgate parking lot. There's no pavement there and it was an absolute mudhole. Unfortunately, a lot (most) of the griz fans at the game entered/exited at that gate. The north endzone with the team houses, ticketbooth and plaza area is very nice concrete and paved. The south endzone on the other hand is third world. Also, a lot of people chose to park by the museum so they had to wade through the mud to get through the gate to the tailgate parking lot. My suggestion to visiting fans if you don't park in the tailgate lot and don't mind walking a short distance: park in one of the lots near the fieldhouse and walk up the sidewalk to the northwest gates to the stadium. You'll stay high and dry if you do that.

I can't remember who brought it up before, but it has been brought up several times before on egriz ... by a Bobcat fan. Something about asking the Griz fans who bought all of the MSU season tickets to please donate them to Bozeman charities. It was a nice idea, but based on bad information that opens the door for Griz fans to take credit for our great season ticket sales this year.
I wasn't "taking it out" on the poster -- just stressing that this myth must be squashed once and for all (and I think it is the same guy who was posting this same info on egriz, where I have corrected it before, but I can't remember for sure).

I was speaking to the content of his post, and clarifying that it was not correct. That is not "taking it out" on somebody. The quote was perfectly appropriate or else it would have been very difficult to figure out what I was referring to.
Correcting misinformation is not the same thing as "taking it out" on someone.

For the record, I and my associate (who came down from Kalispell) had a fantastic time this weekend. Bozeman was full of people, as evidenced by the hour and a half wait for a table at Santa Fe Red's. With few exceptions, the Bobcat fans were an agreeable bunch who wanted to have a good time. When the game was boring (I'll consider it the most poorly played game that I have seen all year), we'd simply look behind Reno H. Sales and enjoy seeing the throng of tailgates.
I'm blaming on it on the choice of places to stay. As much as Bozeman annoys me, I'd take Bozeman over LosAngeleston anyday.

Maybe that was it. They were praying?

Very very silent Griz crowd this year. They must pump artificial noise into Washington Griz if that is how loud they get. South Dakota State was way noisier than that and they had about 300-500 fans there last year.

Hey! Just so you understand I'm forever Griz. The only two things I won't cheer for are Bobcats and Democrats. BUT after having swore that I'd never go back again for the last 6 outings I was pleasantly pleased by the Bobcat crowd this year. No smash talk or taunting in my endzone location and had a good time talking football to some of the Cats in my location. That's a change folks from previous years where the F word was constantly hurled at us. (I was embarassed by a drunken UM student who made the the Cat tee-shirt that had something to do about UM in DUMB look like it belonged.)
So, perhaps after winning all these past couple of years, some of those more juvenile Cat fans we have been complaining about have grown up and matured to honor your winning ways.
Great victory. Can't disagree with the Chronicle writer who headlined that the Griz were not up to playoff standards on Saturday. But we're going and you are not. It's that simple.
As for your facilities, they have come a long way in improvement. Fix the sound though, if only for your own fans who cannot hear it. And get the announcer into the game. It's a little funny to have him go through his war whoop about "first down" just before the ball snaps. I mean, really.
As for Livingston, my home town, great places to eat and drink. I did not go to the rally at O'(whatever), but did stop in to talk to them in the early afternoon. Nice guys, both Cats and I'm sure they tried to put on a good show.
See you all next year in Missoula, and Bozeman the next, and remember: GO GRIZ!!

You're not far from wrong there, tetoncat.
But when our cannon DOES go off, it ricochets off cement instead of creating that feeling that the scaffolding is going to collapse.
Everything is always on its way somewhere.

I think MAzooLa was trying to get the point across that MSU should just imrove on their stadium so it doesnt look like a mediocre I-AA stadium.
Maybe im wrong....
