TOTAL attendance

Post by SonomaCat » Mon Nov 21, 2005 1:15 pm

I was amazed that, during the game (when the stadium was packed), I could see out into the tailgate areas and still see a sea of people.

How many people do you all estimate were on the grounds tailgating, but couldn't get into the game because it was sold out? I am guessing between 5K and 10K.

If only we had a way to expand our stadium for lots of standing room tickets ... like a big earthen berm in an endzone.

What would that something be? I think it is a virtual certainty.

First up is building boxes on the student side. Those are sold. Building a practice field after that I think.

Okay, I know this one is a LONG shot, but what if they made a grassy lawn seating area or something infront of new seats in the east endzone... The seats in the east endzone could be far enough off the ground, so even those standing in the grassy lawn would be able to see...

Or maybe they could put in box seats in the endzone (above the rest of the seats)...

Maybe they could put the band over there in those seats which would open up more seats in the student section.

Actually, we need both. The box seats bring in a tremendous amount of money. And, there are several groups that have expressed a desire to be on the list for these new units should they be built.
I'm not really a big fan of bowling in the South endzone with a dirt berm and covering with grass. Can you imagine sitting on that this past weekend. Or, even having to stand on it? How about in years where we actually have snow covered frozen ground? YUCK!

Hells I hope you're wrong. I really think this stadium expansion needs to move forward in an efficient and timely manner.

I am almost positive we will see the playing surface upgraded before any seating. Kramer told me it will be done either after this season or next (I am guessing after next).

i hope i am wrong also, i just have a sarcistic nature when it comes to improvments in such items as the stadium. I just hope that they give the stadium a 7000 seat improvment in capasity...we will need it soon

It would make more sense to build new luxury boxes (if they are going to build them) on the South/West endzone, due to the view.

I'd guess 3,000 in the tailgate area. The best part was when the tailgaters started heaving snowballs.
