Great Year Bobcats - Players/Coaches/Fans

Post by CARDIAC_CATS » Sun Nov 20, 2005 4:43 pm

This year was just another leap in the resurrection/class of this program. We go undefeated at home and sell out 5 of the 6 games. Way to support this team this year. In order to make the playoffs year in and year out we need to support this team at home. The perennial 1-AA powers win 90%+ of their home games and that is how they stay consistent year in and year out. The tailgating at MSU reached new levels this year again and is only going to get better.

So for every season ticket holder out there, I know Lulay is gone ... but I can see us having another very good team next year with the increased depth of our DL and added experience of our younger players that have gotten good minutes these past years. The goal of every season ticket holder should be to get 1 more cat fan up there next year and we will for sure fill the stadium again year in and year out. Bring someone who has never been to a game up there the last 4-5 years and we will have them hooked .. I guarantee it :) We need to bring in a some help at WR to go along with our current WR corp to help us strengthen that portion of the team! Kramer and Co. will take care of that though as he has done it in the past.

Congrats to all the Seniors on this team this year. You are a very special bunch and will NOT be forgotten by the Bobcat fans. You along with other Seniors from the last 4-5 years are the CORE that is now bringing MSU football back on the map as a PERIANNIAL power in the Big Sky. The younger guys have all learned the hard work/class that MSU players have from the older players and that tradition will continue. Keep it up and work very hard in the offseason and you will be rewarded I guarantee it.

And finally ... Travis Lulay. Thanks for the memories of what was truly and AWESOME MSU football career. A lot of those plays you made were truly unbelievable and it was a joy watching you take the wind right out of oppossing defenses :) Keep learning the game/practicing/training and you will definately be a great QB at the next level.

All in all what a great year of football/atmosphere/partying/meeting other Cats fans. We can take this to new levels and we will next year!

Our fans were awesome all year long - on the road and at home. I agree about the season ticket sales, that is the easiest way to justify additional seating. The way I look at it, if I can travel 1,100 miles for each home game than so can people from across Montana. I think I covered almost 11,000 miles since the start of the season and it really was not that bad. I actually like the road games as much as home games. I met a lot of the parents and learned more inside scoop away from Bozeman. Here is a link to the University of Colorado site. I can't wait for September 2, 2006. I hope a lot of Cat fans show up again. It is a really easy trip with Denver being so close.

Agreed, Cardiac about the WR issue. I see that as our big offseason void to fill. I truly think Carpenter will be fine and Groves is the man. Defensively we made big strides and will be better than average if not very good. Hastings was great all season and I expect to see Fisher punting and I would guess kicking off. Bolton just doesn't have the leg, IMO.
