POOR GRIZZLIES
16-6. I thought that the Griz were rated #3. Sure seems like with an offense like that it would be hard to be rated at all. Good job Cats on a great season. A few hard losses, but hey at least the teams that we lost to were either 1-A, or were rated in the top 20 at some point during this season. I think that is worthy of a playoff birth. It looks as if maybe we have started a little streak of our own. 3-1 in the last 4 years. POOOR GRIZZZLIESSSSS.

Fantastic game Cats!!! Particularly great job on defense. I Love defense, and I love us beating the Grizzlies, so I have to say this is the happiest I have been watching since we won 10-7 in Missoula 3 years ago. PoorGriz, we do not have a streak -- 1 win is not a streak in any way, shape, form, or stretch of imagination. But we've got our f'ing rivalry back -- we can beat the Griz any year!! GO CATS!!!!

Yeah, I have to agree...the Cats played their asses off today and deserve the W. The Friz looked ragged and not as pumped up as our boys were. Congrats to the Cats no matter what happens with the playoffs, and I for one will say that if UM goes on to the playoffs as the only 1-AA school from Montana, I will not be cheering for them. Who's with me?!

I think everyone will agree-the only thing close in this game was the score. The score was too close for me to really enjoy the game until about 2:00 minutes left-we all know how our Cats love to keep things interesting.
For a team that isn't supposed to be able to run the ball and a team that supposedly can't stop the run I'd say our guys did pretty good today! I'm so happy for these guys and proud to be a Bobcat today.
Congrats to the Eagles and griz as well for a share of the conference title. I think our three teams have been the class of the league (must be something to do with that I-90 connection? Best of luck to our league's playoff participants-make us all proud.
I remember our senior day in 1999. It was a pretty good game-tied at halftime that the griz pulled away in the second half. We had four seniors on that team. Today we had 17 seniors called out. That's a huge difference in a rivalry game. Thankyou seniors-you guys are awesome!

I think Lex is great. I take nothing away from him. Our defense did the job on him. I believe our retooled defense was made to stop Lex-and that's what they did. It just took the wholes season to get it figured out.mquast53000 wrote:How can people think Lex is going to the NFL? He looked awful! CB is terrible too. The Griz representing the BSC... What a shame. ..
As for Berquist-tough day for the poor kid. He really struggled-but even when he did put it on the money-our db's were right there-best game I've seen from a Bobcat secondary-maybe ever!

I'm with Belgrade on this one. Don't denigrate the Grizzlies, give credit where credit is due to our defense. Great job Cats!!! As I've said before, we've got a lot of guys back on the defensive side of the ball next year -- hopefully we'll be on our way back to the top on defense next year!

The Bobcat defense played their best game of the year and the result was a Bobcat winner. It was a tough day for the Grizzlies and their offense, thanks to a very effective Bobcat defense. Offense was good too and Groves did a great job running the ball. So these great seniors go out with a win! The crowd was also great, too! Congratulations, Bobcats!
GO CATS!
It's always a good day to be a Bobcat fan!

My name is Steve, if you'd like to know.

Bingo! The Cats D-line beat the Griz off the ball all day long. Effectively shut off the Griz ground game.Btowncat wrote: give credit where credit is due to our defense. Great job Cats!!! As I've said before, we've got a lot of guys back on the defensive side of the ball next year
Must give credit to the whole crew. Only two cases today that I can recall of stupid penalties and clock mismanagement. Today, their heads were in the game from beginning to end. Much improved from previous weeks.
Way to go CATS!

Not being from Montana, I didn't have a clue about Cat or Griz football until I started at MSU this fall. I have to say that this was a great introduction to the phenomenom that is Cat/Griz.
Great job CATS!

And a great job to the Marching Band! You guys sounded great today all the way from the patriotic start to the extra songs at the end of the game. My girlfriend and I enjoyed standing on the field listening to you all play long after the game was over. Thanks for all your hard work!BandCat wrote:Not being from Montana, I didn't have a clue about Cat or Griz football until I started at MSU this fall. First off, there is no doubt that this Cat-Griz game was the most civil I have ever attended. I didn't see one fist fight!! Lots of Cats & Griz fans shaking hands before the game and wishing each other a good game. I saw more of the same after the game. The Bride & I went to Old Chicago for pizza. Lots of Cats & Griz there but nothing really out of line. I'm sure someone probably was a jackarse to some griz but overall very civil. Are the Cats starting to earn some RESPECT??
Second, let's build on this huge win by recruiting some great Montana kids and more speed from the coast. Also, we should not rest on our laurels as the griz will have another great team again next year. Well, let's enjoy the moment for now:D
Man that was great watching that goal post come down. GO CATS!!

Agreed on the civility. Everyone had a good old time, regardless of the colors they are wearing. Even the famous chant was in good fun.SteelheadBum wrote:First off, there is no doubt that this Cat-Griz game was the most civil I have ever attended. I didn't see one fist fight!! My little brother (younger @21 but bigger physically) told me that he saw at least 4 fist fights in the parking lot just east of the stadium. He said the outcomes were the same as inside the stadium. I don't condone it, it does happen though. Kids will be kids, it is a huge rivalry and emotions run high.

First, Lex had a migraine all game, which if not an excuse, at least explains why he didn't get a lot of assignments.mquast53000 wrote:How can people think Lex is going to the NFL? He looked awful! CB is terrible too. The Griz representing the BSC... What a shame. ..
Second, you're absolutely correct that Cole was terrible. In fact, he's been on something of a slide lately. He was, remember, a fall-back QB after BH put all his marbles on Washington, and I'm afraid that he's now not even of sufficient quality for that.
Third, I think EWU will make a good representation for the BSC. The Cats wouldn't have done well for long, and the Griz deserve a try because of what we've put together over the years, which includes as a result the facility, which means cash for the NCAA. Although, as you, I don't anticipate we'll make a great showing.
Everything is always on its way somewhere.

and they wonder why so many of them are held in such low regard...

Being classy in victory is acting like you've been there before...
Congrats for the win to everyone on the Cat side except for Gato...My guess is that you'll pop the tape of this game in the vcr next Saturday and pretend its a playoff game for the Cats...
