But it is also clear that EWU managed to upgrade their head coaching position when the retained Wulff. With the injuries and bad luck that team has had it's a miracle they're where they're at this season.

Kramer is a good coach, but he's not the league's top coach-just like Mick Durham isn't the league's top coach in basketball. What can we do? Run them off and risk bringing in another Solomonson, or Dave Arnold? Before Kramer we had Hysell-he wasn't the league's top coach by a long stretch either. If we run off Kramer would it be like running off Lubick?Destroy our recruiting base and putting program in a 30 year dumper (with the exception of '84 with a team full of Lubick recruits).

I don't know what to think about the whole deal. It looked obvious to me that this team wasn't ready to play tonight. The offense is completely out of ideas and the defense is only as good as their conditioning can carry them-once they're tired they can't stop anybody (NAU game 2 weeks ago is a pretty good example).

Are these guys thinking? It's 4th and 19 and we're way behind so Lulay decides to tuck and run??? What's the point of that? Take the risk-throw the dang ball! EWU has 4th and forever-their quarterback throws it up and Grenfell intercepts at the 10 instead of knocking it down!!! DUMB, DUMB, DUMB! Sure the game was way over by that point but that play tells me he's playing for the stats and not for the team-and Lulay doesn't want to risk the interception so he puts himself in danger on a hopeless run. How about coach deciding to kick a 44 yard field goal at the end of the half into the wind on 4th down instead of going for with one time out still remaining? He should know by now that Hastings has a weak leg and a field goal from that distance has no chance. What was he thinking?

This team and their coaching staff had their collective heads up their rear ends!

I'll probably come around later in the week-but right now I could care less about the stupid Cat-griz game. I'm guessing our players feel the same way-judging by the effort they gave tonight. The griz will beat us by 20.
Stop right there!! In order to compare you must have equals, similiars, apples to apples, if you know what I mean. Lubick was a class individual, a person you could trust. Look what he did while he was here and most importantly what he's done since we ignoranlly booted him. Arnold, whether you liked him or not, brought us a national championship. How quick we forget!

I think Kramer has had serious pressure to win. Instead of trying to build a program recruiting Montana High School Freshmen he always seems to try to fill weaknesses with a ton of JC transfers. I would feel much better about the MSU program if it were mediocre with a bunch of Montana freshmen than with a bunch of JC guys. The program will never compete with the grizzlies or have sustained success as long as they are chasing there tails trying to fill holes with a bunch of transfers.

When you think about bobcat stars of the past the vast majority of them were recruited from Montana high schools and were in the system for four or five years.

Yep, Wulff must be a better coach. He took the best offense in the league with most guys back, A playoff team with most guys back, and led them to a 2 loss conference schedule record (losing to ISU and WSU), Lost to Cal Poly on the road ( Now doesn't that sound familiar) and lost to a 1A. Man that sounds a lot like our record doesn't it. They could lose this weekend and be 6-5 but in the playoffs. Every one still want to annoit him.

For those of you accusing Kramer of recruiting JC kids as a "quick fix," you are just the same. You don't want to wait 5-10 years to build the facilites, atmoshpere, or damn cheering section they have in that place-that-shan't-be-mentioned down the road. When was the last time the 'Cats had a 4 year winning record? So your qucik fix is to fire the most recognizable man on the Montana State University Campus. Good idea. I saw some 5 year old kid ask Kramer for his autograph last Thursday night in Hastings, wanna explain to him why his favorite bald headed man isn't coaching his favorite team anymore?

Kramer, and his family, have added class to this town. I knew his daughter when she was going to school here, and once saw her get verbally assaulted by a players mother who was unhappy with her son's lack of playing time. She handled it cooly and walked away. Any guy that can raise his daugther with that kind of calm can stay as long as he wants.

I know for a fact that Kramer could have had both the Montana, Idaho, and an assistant position at Utah State in the 48 hours after he accepted the 'Cats position. UM offered him $200 k, but he had too much CLASS to reneg on his committment to MSU. And now, he stays, witout more than a 1 year contract, because he wants to continue to build a program.

So for those of you ready to light the torches and load the shotguns, go back and do some self anaylsis on your posts. Yes, Mr. Clean recruits JC's and (god forbid) out of state players like Joey Thomas, Travis Luluay, and Roger Cooper. Yes, building aprogram takes $$$ (where would UM be without MR. Washington?). And yes, getting 'over the hump' takes time. Just look at Denny Alverez at Wisconsin. I thin when it's all said and done, Kramer will retire when he's won enough games to name the football stadium after him, and only to become Governor. Oh wait, he's not a Montanan... I bet you'd vote for Judy again though, she is?

And I'm done.
Yes you are--DONE :!: :!: :!: Love the facts, $200,000,WOW, thanks Coach Mike for not leaving us. Truth is he was never offered the job, but the nice thing about chat lines, truth is not an issue. Come on bobcat grad, why don't you throw some cash our way The money you speak of money, it must be monoply money  $200,000

I've never heard a $$ figure that was thrown out, and I suspect the 200K is nearly double the true #, if one was in fact offered,

BUT, DWB24, Kramer WAS offered the job.

When Kramer got hired, he got something like $80,000 in base salary plus about $40,000 from the boosters for around $120,000. I don't know if that's gone up at all, but that's what I remember hearing.
