Poor griz fans just cannot grasp an intellectual discussion. Taking something up means an improvement. With 5 conference winning seasons in a row, 4 overall winning seasons in a row, a potential for 3 out of 4 conference championships, that would be an improvement. The Griz had winning records and championships so having 9-2 and 8-3 records is not moving the program up. It is called maintaining. We will all speak slower for you next time so you can understand this.

Oh, I clearly understand the point. Krames has taken a team from scat to ... well, not too bad. BH, on the other hand, has kept a team in fine form, maybe even improved it a little. Yep, I get it.

However, I think the point is pretty shaky. Krames had nowhere to go but up. Going 0'fer in 2000 was the worst he could do and he is now 6-5 or 7-4. Yahoo! Yeah, sure. Krames is great.

Yet again, more arrogant griz fans come here and spew more of their drivel about how great their program is. And yet they wonder why people don't like them or thier team... ](*,) ](*,)

You fizzlies make me want to puke. :yuck:

Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.

I get it, because Kramer has improved SO MUCH over the last 4 years, every year his teams get WAY better.

He did a great job rebuilding a program that was in the gutter, yes. Everyone realizes that, and he deserves a lot of credit, but he's hit a plateau for the last 4 years, I don't see the advantage he's providing anymore, his record has been something like 26-21 over the last 4 years right? That's great? Wow...

Hauck is taking a team that's mostly his and if they win over the cats this weekend they'll have a better regular season record than last years NC runner up team.

Hauck is better recruiter by far, one of his big advantages.

Kramer Rocks

Post by griz8791 » Wed Nov 16, 2005 8:07 pm

I really look forward to picking up the Trib on Sunday and reading his quotes about the game. (Wasn't it Kramer who said "it was a game only a fat kid's mother could love"? -- think he was at EWU at the time and was describing a game with the Cats). I think if I ran into him on the street in Bozeman or anywhere else it would be fun to introduce myself to him, explain I'm a Griz fan, and try to draw him into a conversation about the state of football.

The downside as I see it is an occasional tendency to call his players out in the press. Doesn't matter if the kid is from Montana or elsewhere. It's like fingernails on a chalkboard.

I find it interesting that so many people are so offended when Kramer "calls a player out in the press." He usually just repeats what every single desk chair quarteback is saying as well. ("We've got to catch more balls." "The coaches need to coach better," etc...) He's a good PR man, but he also know when to cut to the chase. Kramer's got a lot of other people depending on him; his family, his coaches and their families, players, players parents. Not to mention about half a state with nothing better to do than fixate on the discrepancies between two decent football teams. It's not like the Bobcats suck as bad as say, Mississippi State.

As for the Giz thing. Get over yourself griz fans. How many of you actually went to the school? And how many actually graduated? Most of you jumped on the bandwagon in the mid 90's when they actually got good. I have respect for a program that can continually field a good team. But you are all so obnoxouis about the football thing. Get over yourselves, have some fun, and enjoy being in beautiful Bozeman on Saturday, 'cause some of us are stuck in Mississippi and can't go.

Refresh my memory on a couple of facts:

1. What percentage of Griz fans didn’t attend the University?

2. What percent of cat fans didn’t attend the university?

3. Can you only be a "good" fan if you attended the university you root for?

4. What percentage of the cats "bad" fans attended the university?

5. What percentage of the Griz "good fans didn’t attend the university?

6. What exactly is a bandwagon fan?

7. What is the percentage difference in bandwagon fans between the two schools?

8. How many stupid assumptions can bobcatgrad2005 get into one post?

9. Is bobcatgrad2005 a bandwagon fan?

10. If you jumped on the bandwagon over a decade ago, when do you become a non-bandwagon fan?

The GRIZ, a quarter century of total football dominance over the cats.

Success breeds excitement. I believe most fans, whether Bobcat or Griz, recognize that this is one of the most, if not the most, intense rivalries in the nation. For over 100 years the vast majority of Montanans, at least for 1 day a year, identify themselves as either a Grizzly or a Bobcat. To imply that one cannot be a true fan of either institution unless they attended or graduated from the school is ludicrous. In my mind identifying yourself with one school or the other makes you a Montanan, and a bandwagon fan is one who does not understand what that entails. I also believe that nothing better could have happened for the rivaly than MSU having success these past couple of years. - Lets just hope their succsess does not include this Saturday

One thing I've found over the years is that yes, there are a LARGE # of folks who never attended either school, want both schools to win, but then pick one team or the other for Cat/Griz.

These folks want "their" team to go 11-0 every season, but would like to see the "other" team go 10-1.

I think if we conducted a poll, however, we wouldn't find that attitude to be as prevalent among current students and alumni.

IMO, those folks that either ARE in school or that GRADUATED from either school, are far more spiteful of the "other" team.

In other words, current students & alum, IMO, are more likely to state that they want "their" team to go 11-0 every season and would like the "other" team to go 0-11.

I'd still take Hauck, his team will still be playing football next weekend. But I will admit, Hauck was outcoached today.
