Other recruits....
Besides thee three QB's that have been bantered about for the past month, are there any other kids out there? I am tired of reading about the hows and whys of each kid. I want to see some names. Hallgren from Belgrade. The Miles City kid. Anyone else from West, anybody from Capital? Any AA kids that can play BSC football?

Nate Neujahr. He turned down the Griz for a track scholy (60%) in order to get a full ride in football. No offers yet. Grew up in Nebraska so he doesn't have a preference for Cats or Griz.Grizcat wrote:....His name is Neujar. He's big and fast and looks like he plays great man coverage.

An obvious one from West is Selle. Another one would be Shawn Harcharik, but he is a little short for a linebacker, but he is a die-hard Cat fan and an excellent tackler. West saftey Eli Johnson could play CB at the I-AA level.Grizcat wrote:From West--Rider SS and Wells RB supposedly have some interest from the MSU coaches. I'd look at their other CB (other than Carlson). His name is Neujar. He's big and fast and looks like he plays great man coverage.

El Gato: beings that you see alot of high school ball in the Treasure state, are there any kids that you think can be BSC-type kids? (we all know about Desin, Selle and everyone else on the roster at West) Are there kids from Butte, Helena, Great Falls, Kalispell, and any of the three stinkytown schools that can go on to the Big Sky?

Kyle Begger, from Miles City, has some interest in the Cats--he was impressed with the coaching staff. He is being recruited by the Griz, Boise State, and Hawaii among others. Jess Fuhrman, also from Miles City is being recruited by the Cats, and was at Cat/Griz as a guest of the Cats. He is a big kid, but is probably more of a project and would likely be asked to walk on.
The Glendive kid is a legit big guy, I have heard that he is being recruited pretty hard by both the Griz and the Cats.

Here's some other Montana recruits from ESPN. Some of their grades are very suspect, but not unexpected from ESPN.

This one is the long shot of long shots, but Chris Carlson from West is the real deal... did not play offense last year, but has been noticed by some D1 schools(Colorado St.) this season. I know he is A grizzly legacy, but they are counting on that and if we were to offer more..who knows? This kid has got great hands, and speed to burn(Watch for him in Track this spring), and he has that knack for making huge plays out of nothing. It would be stupid not to offer him!!!
I swear, it's like I'm playin' cards with my brother's kids or somethin'. You nerve-wrackin' sons-a-bitches.'

After what his family pulled when his bro verballed with us I'd be surprised if we gave him a complimentary chicken wing from dorm food services, let alone one of our few avail schollie slots..rollo_tumasi wrote:This one is the long shot of long shots, but Chris Carlson from West is the real deal... did not play offense last year, but has been noticed by some D1 schools(Colorado St.) this season. Forget Carlson - The other corner Newjar from West is better. He avg 28 yards per catch - just didn't play alot of offense because he played all defense. West coaches have their favorites. He is faster then Carlson and bigger. Newjar can play receiver or Dback. His size and speed makes so he can play just about anywhere. Athletes- That's what the cats need. I heard that MSU is recruiting him for track, so are Griz. We should get him for football.
