Should be interesting to see if Selle becomes a Grizzly.
I guess he didn't go after Hoffenbacker...

Did any of you hear that story? Hilarious! It ended with Bobby screaming at Hoffenbacker that he was making a terrible mistake and telling him that the Griz will kick his ass!

That is not true.
Jason Goodman (I think that was Hauck's first year)
Mason Ophus (I know that he was high on BH's list)
Brandon Hoffenbacker
I would be surprised that he did not offer the following:
Chase Gazzerro
Jeff Hanson
Joe Schreibeis
Bryan Beniger
Gary Tapp
Graduated MSU 1981
Hamilton High School
Minneapolis, MN

And how did Ophus and Goodman work out for you guys.
The others were probably asked to walkon.
But it isn't as if Hauck is the only UM coach to loose to MSU on a recruits. Look at Mollahan. Glenn and staff wanted him in a bad way, but didn't get him.
That is the way the cookie crumbles sometimes. And each kid has a different reason be it course offerings, location, coach, fit, or whatever.

Yea and Reggie Bush wanted to be a cat but Kramer only offered a 1/2 scholly so he went to USC, or the Griz would be eating a lot of Reggie Bush this week. Give me a break.
Never mistake activity for accomplishment.

My point EXACTLY Jag... to make such a ridiculous statement about BH getting EVERY recruit he goes after is pure fantasy... so.. when did Reggie say no to the Cats?

He may get everyone he wants, but who is to say they are all good?

Yeah, I heard that story, and I freaking loved it! The ending was even better with what Hoff told Hack to go do to himself!

Even funnier still is the fact that none other than former griz great Grady Bennett was the person to relay this story!

Actually Ioane and Cordiero were somewhat of a gamble. Cordiero was a question mark as to commitment, both athletically and academically. I got this from an MSU coach of a different sport. Re: Ioane - Kramer said a few years later that he would not have signed him "today" because he was not really a good enough athlete to play DB at our level. Kramer was just getting started recruiting, so he took a chance on him. I heard that directly from Kramer. But these guys are great success stories and great examples of what hard work and perseverance will do. My hats off to both of them.

Also, I forgot to mention that someone on this board said a few weeks ago that Goodman had a career-ending neck injury and was out of football. How's that considering that he hasn't played since the UNI playoff game? ....... If true, he wouldn't be playing this Sat. anyway.
Goodman, Ophus, and Hoffenbacker (if grades bomb)..... losing talent like that is huge.

It's gonna be difficult for Hoff to bomb becuse he has been given the learning disability tab like Clive Lowe.

And we wonder why Kramer has trouble recruiting in MT. Damnit I wish he'd give more class act kids like Kane a chance. Kramer bashed Scotty Turnquist 9 ways to Sunday when the he was playing at MSU... who wouldnt want a dependable kid like that on our receiving corp right now. There isnt one WR on the team I would keep over Turnquist today.
Give the MT kids a chance Kramer. They have heart, they know the passion in the state over this school... some ordinary kid from California doesnt know, and takes a while for him to care. JCs and transfers... rarely work out for the best either.
What was the most disappointing aspect of our football team last Saturday (besides the coaching)? WRs dropping balls... well, how many WRs on the field Saturday are program fed kids? Not a single one of them.
I am not saying you only recruit MT kids to play in Bozeman... not even Carroll or Tech can say that. But when it comees to crunch time, given that 3 kids are equivalent athletes and positional needs, maybe we should not be taking a chance on this kid from Oakland and asking the kids from Miles City and Belgrade to walk on. Instead, give 2 partials to the Montana kids and leave the Oakland kid alone!
