A CHALLENGE TO THE FANS

Post by rtb » Sun Nov 13, 2005 11:24 pm

Hey Everyone,

I returned from the game today and while the game was absolutely heart-breaking and I am as disapointed as anyone it doesn't mean it is time to act like jackasses.

There are definately things I would like to see change in our program and we have plenty of time to discuss that from next Sunday until September, but lets all do our part make this Cat/Griz week one of the best! Travis Lulay is one of the best players to ever put on the Blue and Gold. Lets show him our pride this week and get behind the team for one more game. I am as anti-Griz as they come, but some of this hatred is getting out of control. Take the high road and bring pride to MSU, don't bring it down with immaturity.

I really don't want to babysit this board all week and sort the garbage out from the real content. If you have something to say that is related to a thread, please do so. If you want to talk smack or just be pissed off, we have a place to do that on this board.

Thanks to all the great fans, what a showing in Cheney!!! Lets have fun and beat the Griz!!!

This is my fault! I got this whole thing going (not that it needed my help) with the "Abortion" comment. Sorry to anyone it offended! I was not intending smack but smack is how it came out. So from now on it is pure football comments (until BBall season) and the occasional smack which will be seen only on the 'smack" forum.

I am ready to send Lulay off with a Big Sky Title and Cat/Griz win. Let's give this team all we have (AND MORE) this weekend and help our team beat the dark side of the force. :)

I DEFINATELY LIKE OUR CHANCES IN THIS GAME.

BE THERE .. BE LOUD!

GO CATS!

If we play really well against the friz, I think we still have a slight chance to get in the playoffs.

Cheer loud everyone, I sadly will only be able to listen on the radio as I travel to Fairfield to watch the Eagles play in their first state championship game since 1983. Hopefully I can catch the first quarter on TV before attending the game.

At the risk of biting the hand of my host, I'm in a quandry. Let's see... be anti-Griz, 'cause if you win it lowers our seed and limits the number of games that your fellow Montana football fans can see.

Or, does that "high road" kick in only after we beat you?

No worries at all, as Cat fans I would say most of us still aren't over the streak and can't pull ourselves to root for Montana. I know I can't yet. Sorry, I apologize, I know it is petty, but I won't cheer for them yet. Although I do encourage people to be representative of MSU and be great fans and great hosts to the U of M fans. That is what I mean by taking the high road. Don't treat people like garbage just because they don't root for MSU.

You're obviously an educated person, sufficiently in control of personal preferences to monitor the exhortations of others. Yet, the animosity is soooo deep-seated that you can't overcome it without great effort. I have to confess that I think Sc@ fans need more of that... the pomposity the Griz program has allowed was hard gained through intolerance to meritocracy, and if this sickness is growing among your fans, we'll soon have two Montana teams of what would otherwise be college kids, now armed to the hilt with the burden of others' expectations.

I do thank you for allowing me to play in your yard.

You assume that we want to overcome it. I hate the griz, I will always hate the griz, and never in my life would I root for the griz in any circumstance. And I like it that way. :D

Okay so MaZooLa Griz... You're saying that since Bozeman will not be making playoffs that we should support the Grizzlies in their post season quest?

Huh, that would be like... I don't know... The New York Jets losing out of the playoffs and New Yorkers deciding they'll root for the New York Giants... IT'S NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN.

Give me a break MaZooLa Griz!! Would you ever root on the Bobcats if they were playing in a post season game? Probably not... My guess is that you'd be watching... and I'm not even going to finish the rest of what I was going to say!!

Poor Grizzlies.

Have and will again, no doubt. But, I understand your hatred, and upon what it's based. It's really a back-handed compliment, and to the extent it's applicable... thanks!

I too take the backhanded compliment. It is terrible to see such arrogance lead to greater arrogance. I once heard, "Pride(arrogance) leads to a fall", and I expect the fall this weekend.

Go Cats!
