oh, mazoola, we were doing so good. how come you only quoted half of my sentence? was it to try to prove a point? if you wanna read over it again, just so you understand what i said, here it is. you obviously missed it the first time. my last sentence was; "i just dont think that this years team is better than the cats BECAUSE THE TEAM HAS BEEN SO SUCCESSFUL IN THE PAST". i'm not saying you guys are or are not better than the cats this year. by my opinion is that if you are better, it has nothing to do with jimmy farris, dave dickenson, or craig ochs. now, if you disagree with that, please let me hear why. but please dont "cut and paste" in a sense, to make me say somethign i didnt, just so you can argue a point i never made. that's just weird.MaZooLaGriz wrote:I know you still don't get it, and I'm beginning to think that even on November 20, you won't get it.whitetrashgriz wrote:i just dont think this years team is better than the cats

Ok so Lulay is revered as being the best qb the program (bobcat) ever had, for the rest of his life for that matter.El_Gato wrote:"
I, for one, have never tried to claim that Lulay is a better QB than DD was, even though he has now passed DD's regular season #'s (and just became only the 5th collegiate QB EVER to throw for 10,000 yards and run for 1,000); Dickenson's #'s/game, his TD/INT ratio, his overall wins, and his NC ALL point to him being the superior QB.
HOWEVER, I will say that Travis Lulay has been every bit as important to MSU football as DD was to the Griz program. Both have the distinction of being the greatest QB their program ever had and both will be revered as such for the rest of their lives; it's sad that so many pathetic griz fans REFUSE to see any quality players outside of WaGriz (or specifically in Bozeman). I'm amazed at the # of dolts in marijaunaville who are unimpressed by Lulay, no matter what he accomplishes...
Unless the bobcats win the chipper this year (highly unlikely in all honesty), Lulay will finish his career without winning a NC. Hell he might not even win a single playoff game. So, tell me if my logic is wrong but doesn't that mean that the bobcats will be mired in mediocrity for at least as long as Travis Lulay is alive? Wow! That could be a lot of 6-5 seasons. Jeez you cat fans are much to accepting. Griz fans would never settle for that. Personally, I am hoping that Cole Bergquist or Clint Stapp will be better than Ochs or DD.

You have proven that you are delusional that is for sure. Stating that Lulay is basically no good because he has not won a playoff game and in the same breath you think Cole could be as good as Ochs or DD... WOW!!! Cole was 10 of 26 with 80 passing yards and one INT against NAU. Cole's offense did not score a single touchdown, and that was with the help of your beloved Lex. What an outstanding showing for a young soon to be All American. You are the delusional one. Try not to sound like such a typical Griz fan that thinks that all Bobcats are bad and all Grizzlies are good. You should go back to egriz where all of your buddies would pat you on the back for such a stellar post.elkmcc wrote:Personally, I am hoping that Cole Bergquist or Clint Stapp will be better than Ochs or DD.

So I guess then there must have been NO griz fans prior to 1990? I'm pretty certain that the first 100 years or so of Griz football required their fans to do a LOT of "settling"...elkmcc wrote:...That could be a lot of 6-5 seasons. OK bozos let me put it simply for you. DD WON a National Championship and 6 playoff games. Lulay has won zero playoffs games and zero NC's. DD is enshrined as being the greatest qb the Griz have had to date simply because no qb yet has compared to DD. As a Griz fan I would love to see another qb come and lead the Griz to 3 or 4 NC's and make us forget who DD was. This may or may not happen but I don't think there is a Griz fan out there that wouldn't love to see it happen.

I don't see how elk is really backpeddling here, though. The original statement was that elk was "hoping" Cole or Stapp would be a better QB than DD or Ochs, not that elk predicted it would happen. I don't see any change in position here; am I missing something?mquast53000 wrote:Back pedaling has begun...elkmcc wrote:OK bozos let me put it simply for you. I work as an attorney so that I can afford good scotch, which helps me to forget that I work as an attorney.

I am perfectly happy with the possibility of an 8 win season, and the potential for another playoff run and not to mention a bright looking future. (Seriously I don't watch this much football, but God I love to argue). On that note, you guys are the ones that need to get it done this or year or not at all in my opinion. IMO more pressure on MSU this year. By the by I am getting flack for my spelling so if you find something I get it, I don't edit these things man.
MY FIRST EMOTICON! YEAH!

See that is funny because you never played college football.
