Do you see what I see?

Post by Born2BaGriz » Thu Nov 10, 2005 10:39 am

Looking into my crystal ball this is what I see.

1. The Cats begin a two-game slide and end the year 6-5. Mr. Clean takes an assistant’s job at a D-1A program after the realization that a winning record without Travis next year is unlikely.
2. The Griz win out and host three playoffs games but lose the semi-final match up. Bobby and Co. head off to a non-BCS D1-A school and the Griz join the Cats in a search for a head coach.
3. The Saints win their 4th National Championship and both the Cats and the Griz woo Van Deist. Mike looks hard and after understanding the unrealistic expectations of the Griz fans, his family ties in Billings and Big Timber, and the realistic goals of the MSU program he takes over as the new head coach in Bozeman.
4. Retuning the vast majority of their semi-final appearance team, the Griz win their third National Championship in 2006.

Funny retort, but what do you see happening?

You forgot to mention who coaches the griz national title in 2006. Unless there is a miracle and Joe Glenn returns I don't see any NC's in your future. My crystal ball says your full of SH!T.

This thread started out with a little smack, and I can see it will quickly become pure smack....so I moved it.

Don't know what Mikes crystal ball sees, but it's probably similiar to mine. We beat EW in a fairly close game and follow it up with a surprisingly (for a griz fan at least) easy win against the griz at home. We host a first round playoff game.

I think the Cats will beat EWU (EWU has too many injuries on the o-line and on their defense).
I don't think that UM's defense can carry the team in Bozeman and the Cats win out getting a home playoff game.
Kramer will be back again next year with minimal staffing changes.
The Griz will make the playoffs with an 8-3 record, open the playoffs on the road and they will lose in the first round.
Bobby is back next season, but he will have a new offensive coordinator.
Next year the Griz will be picked to win the conference, but with an unproven offense it looks like another multiple lose season for the Griz.
The Cats have significant question marks on their team. The defense will return to the standard 4-3 package, and the defense will show vast improvement. The Cats offense will have no proven QB or WR. These will be the points of emphasis in recruiting and spring ball.

That is what my crystal ball is tell me...

Your response lacks logic. The Griz have proven that it is the program, not the coach per se that gets them to the NC game. You may disagree with my post, but your inability to argue the merits is noted.

I may be wrong, but my post was based upon the fact that the Cats will be underdogs in the next two games, so it is easy to see that they could drop both games and go 6-5. While I don't think Maxi Me would get fired, I do think he sees the handwriting on the wall and will leave to be a well paid assistant.

Should the Griz win out, they will be a top two seed and winning in Missoula proves to be tough for opposing teams. I just don't see the Griz having the offense to go the whole way this year.

The Saints will win their 4th NC. And Mike will look at moving up because, like the Cats, the loss of a dynamic QB will make winning very hard in the next year.

I do think that given the choice between programs, Mike will pick the Cats. His wife is from Billings and her parents still live there as does a brother. Her other brother and former Cat player lives in Big Timber.

The Griz will have the makings of a National Championship team next year.

Disagree all you want, but at least argue the point.

My crystal ball shows both Hauck and Kramer still coaching at UM/MSU with a future Cat/Griz showdown in the playoff's, possibly a National Championship game and everybody pisses and moans about having to travel to Sh!ttynooga for the game.

More importantly, my 8 ball sees me in Billings this weekend drinking with an ex-bobcat singing "Glory Days" while Jagur goes and gets us another beer.

Last time i checked, the program doesn't call the plays. The program doesn't prepare the players for other teams in film sessions. The program also doen't recruit players. Yes, the tradition of a program might be a factor in the decision of a young player, however, the coach must seek the players out.

Your statement was rediculous.

How many coaching changes have the Griz gone through and still maintained the level of play? Lets see, Read, Dennehy, Glenn, and now Bobby. Not saying the coachs don't matter, but they will maintain.

I think you need to windex that crystal ball of yours, its so dirty it has a maroon tint to it. BTW, just because Lulay is leaving does not mean we dont have capable backups and I think that Groves will give us a running game for the next three years, its the receivers that I think will affect us the most.

You know there is something to consider. Everytime the Griz have played in the National Championship they have fallowed it up with another trip to the Chipper. 95, 96, /2000, 2001/2004, ?. There is also the two consequitive bowl years that they competed for the "small college" Championship. I thought the trend would die this year, but your crystal ball might be a touch off. If the offense does rebound from last week I foresee maroon and silver in the National Championship. History tends to repeat itself.
