I always cheer for every other BSC team, because it could potentially help MSU with regard to playoff seeding,...except for UM. We'll never hear the end of it, if they somehow get lucky and upset NDSU. And especially if we get rolled by EWU, which is a possibility, it would be unbearable listening to Griz fans crowing about how great they are, and how bad we suck. Go Bison!!

I know this is going to shock frizz fans because not everyone in the nation knows they are the greatest ever. For example the odds makers in vegas that have them as a 24 point underdog. :D

Really? I've gotta admit that I'm surprised the line is that high. i would have expected something more in the range of 14-17 points, if only because of UM's reputation and tradition.

You'd think MSU fans would be a little gun-shy about making fun of teams for scheduling games with NDSU. You'd think. Please continue.

I agree it's dumb. Reminds me of the time right after the 2000 season when, after Montana lost by two points in the NC to Georgia Southern, and MSU went 0-11 I was driving home wearing a Montana shirt. An MSU fan at gas station started razzing me about having an "embarrassing" season thanks to GS. I just stood there asking myself if it was really happening. This is eerily similar.

There won't be any bragging from myself if we can manage to beat the Bison. I'll be proud as hell, but won't be shoving it in anybody's faces. As for the cats, I dislike them more than any other team, but I do respect you guys. If you can pull off the upset and beat EWU, that will be huge for you guys since you've typically had trouble winning the big games the last several years. Here's to both Montana teams winning this weekend to set up for a great matchup in November! :suds:

You setting the terms on what people can or can't make fun of is dumb. Great story btw.

Hadn't realized you guys were 25 point underdogs against GS. Doesn't sound right but I'll take your word on it.

You're less than a season removed from punking out on a tough opponent while making fun of another team for playing that opponent. Do you honestly it won't be brought up in that discussion?

I actually want MSU to make fun of Montana for playing this game. It's a great illustration in terms of explaining the difference between the two programs.

where did anyone make fun of um for scheduling this game? I haven't seen that.

and what did the fans have to do with msu not playing ndsu? this is all very confusing.

I didn't have anything to do with the cats not playing the bison. I was actually pretty disappointed about it. luckily I'm just a fan and what I want doesn't mean a thing. so I think...I THINK I should still be within my right to think that the griz will lose their game to the bison in the fargodome.

What's more you are already conceding the loss in this post. Not your best work in this sequence.

Are you really making these arguments but neglecting the (multiple) times you guys bought out NDSU

We didn't buy out NDSU. We bought out SDSU to play Iowa to play better competition.

MSU bought out NDSU for SMU and also an extra home game. These things happen. I never understood the outrage by UM fans at MSU for buying out NDSU, when the Griz have bought out games in the past.

Seattle to Billings to Missoula to Bozeman to Portland to Billings

I started reading posts and then quit once it deteriorated into typical cat/griz pissing contest. That being said, I don't have a problem with cat fans not wanting the griz to win. The rivalry has gotten more heated since the streak and more so since it has started to even out. I don't have enough hostility in me to hate the cats. I have to many relatives and friends that went there to let it get personal. In fact, I will be in Bozeman this weekend at the game with my wife. She is from Oxnard, California and is a fan of Tai Salanoa. She has never been to a cat game in her 20 years here, so this is a good weekend and a good game for her to go with the griz out of town. I will not be buying cat gear for her, but I told her she could wear blue or gold if she wishes too. I would love the cats to beat the eagles. I have disliked them since they came back and beat us in the 4th quarter in 1989 in Washington/Griz stadium. Yes I am that old. Wouldn't mind meeting some of you this weekend.

Well I wouldn't call it outrage but there's a difference between buying out a game to play "up" vs. "down". If Montana had dropped a game with App. State instead of SDSU I would've been pissed.

And to be honest I don't really care. But if MSU fans are going to give Montana fans grief about this game you're gonna have to expect some snickering.
