MSU ambassadors

Post by TomCat88 » Mon Jul 14, 2014 9:55 pm

I got a visit last week from a MSU ambassador. I didn't know there was such a program. It consists of students visiting randomly selected alumni from around the state and having coffee, lunch with them and talking about your time at MSU and what they're doing to stay in touch with MSU. Mostly talking about you, which is kinda nice I have to say. Anyone else had such an encounter?

I was contacted last year. I was not able to get together with them because of work but I was also thinking they only wanted my money and as a teacher and part time fishing guide, I have none to give. It is nice to hear it is just a way to stay connected with alum. Interesting idea from MSU. I am sure getting money from alums is the long term goal but this is a nice no pressure deal from your description.

I met with an MSU ambassador last summer. I think it's a great program. I also participated in an Alumni Association focus group last spring. I think it's great that MSU is reaching out to their alumni, in what seems to be a good faith effort to improve their product, even if fund raising is part of the motivation behind these programs.
