Let me just say this. Neither QB is going to put up huge numbers.

Sorry, having a hard time coming up with an explanation why either one or both of these QB's won't absolutely go off this weekend. Both Defensive Secondaries are banged up... Weather is supposed to be cloudy, 45 and a light breeze (pretty good november football weather, all things considered)... Please enlighten us with your reasoning.LongTimeCatFan wrote:Serious

I can see the positives of that... but I'm ALWAYS of the mindset to give them the ball first. Let our D come out fired out and make them go three and out and a punt, or better yet a TO, THEN get our O out there fired up and drive down for a TD. Plus I like getting the ball in the 2nd half. Of course we could always go Delaney style and give them the ball to start both halves...Team10 wrote:If we win the coin toss I'd like to see Ash & Co. choose to take the ball first to: 1. Put a score on the board first and 2. Keep their offense off the field. Give our defense a chance to calm their nerves before they go out and make VAJ run for his life. Cats win in a close one.

That's certainly part of it, but not because either of these teams have stellar defenses.catatac wrote:Unless yo're thinking is that whenever games are hyped up to be high scoring affairs... it seems that more often than not, the reverse happens... and vice versa.LongTimeCatFan wrote:Serious

Cody Kirk and Kyle Godecke are the difference in this game. Do I need to elaborate?
On the other side, it's awful difficult to stay accurate when you're sitting on the sidelines getting cold for 20 minutes.
Why do you think Colter thought we should have run the ball more at UNC?
Why do you think DMG was so inaccurate?
EWU's back end may be banged up, but their front 7 doesn't like power. They over pursue and they arent very big. Since the back end is banged up, there will be big run after big run after big run. If this game goes much different than our NAU game, I'll be surprised.
Not a lot of truth to any of that, at least regarding EWU. We match up well with power... Pulu pretty much shut down the Griz to well below their average. We're not a good matchup with speedy option teams like SHSU. Plus, we usually get up on the scoreboard so fast and frequently that teams start to abandon the run. FWIW, we only allow 9 yards more on the ground per game in conference than the leader (SUU - 104). Not a good idea to limit your possessions by running the ball when facing an offense as potent as ours.LongTimeCatFan wrote:That's certainly part of it, but not because either of these teams have stellar defenses.catatac wrote:Unless yo're thinking is that whenever games are hyped up to be high scoring affairs... it seems that more often than not, the reverse happens... and vice versa.LongTimeCatFan wrote:Serious

I didn't see much power from the Griz in your game. A lot of Iso and off-tackle, but not power. I could be wrong though.Screamin_Eagle174 wrote:Not a lot of truth to any of that, at least regarding EWU. We match up well with power... Nah, they'll get 3 or 4 scores, but its not going to be in the 40's for points.Htowngriz wrote:You really think you're going to hold EWU to around 7 points?LongTimeCatFan wrote:That's certainly part of it, but not because either of these teams have stellar defenses.catatac wrote:Unless yo're thinking is that whenever games are hyped up to be high scoring affairs... it seems that more often than not, the reverse happens... and vice versa.LongTimeCatFan wrote:Serious
