That is a bit of a shocker, but not totally unexpected.

wow, I'm a little surprised by that one. I guess parity rules in this conference.

Seems to me as though we may well be headed straight for another 3 or 4 team tiebreaker with everyone having 2 losses! So much for the idea that EWU has the inside track to the BSC title because of their favorable remaining schedule...

This also points out the absurdity of trying to claim that Team A is better than Team B by comparing scores against one or two common opponents...anything can happen in an individual game; what matters is what happens over the entire season.

Weber beats EWU - whoda thought. I guess thats why they play the games. INSANE!

EDIT:

WSU had 3 drives in the fourth, all for touchdowns, 2 were 92 yard drives, both ending with long TD passes (45 & 69 yds). Pizarro passed for 4 TDs and 292 yds. Meyer passed for 301 yds and 1 TD. No turnovers in the game.

Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.

They have to go through Missoula first. Nothing in this conferance is a lock.

Very big upset to me. I didn't think EWU would be tested the rest of the season. I agree with PapaG, I think PSU is now the team to beat. If nothing else though it should help our attitude when we go to EWU in a few weeks. Crazy conference season so far. I like our chances a lot better after this weekend than I did a week ago.

I'm telling you now that PSU won't win the sky and won't make the playoffs..The PSU QB isn't good enough to pull that off.

Y'all 'Cat fans can't quite bring yourselves to respect the 13 time BSC champions and 15 time I-AA playoff participants, can you?

Portland State hasn't won in Washington Grizzly stadium since joining the Big Sky. Granted, Portland State always gives the Griz a good game in PGE park, but Missoula is the most difficult stadium to play at in I-AA.

Portland State's Big Sky Championship and I-AA playoff dreams will come to an end in the house that Denny Washington built next Saturday.

Looks like to me that the BSC will come down to Cat-Griz for the fourth straight year. Good thing too cause I cant wait to see the agony on Lulays face when the cats lose in bozone to the 13 time BSC champs...

The Cats/Griz/PSU still control their own destiny for the conference race. If we take care of business with our 2 home games the next 2 weeks then we can knock EW out of the playoff race with a win at their place. Which if Weber can do it we can as well. I'm still not set on their defense so if we take care of the ball we can knock them off at their place as well.

I'm not sure on tiebreakers, but if we win all the rest of our home games I think we will win the sky? I almost think we need to go for UM against PSU as UM is still on our schedule to play while PSU is not etc.

Anyway though, our destiny is in our own hands again this year. 1 game at a time and if we win that one things will settle out. Hopefully Idaho State can pin a loss on PSU as well (think they still have to play).

I think that us Bobcat fans almost have to root for the Griz against PSU. If not root for them, we want the Griz to win. PSU also has a game left with Weber, which as we saw in Ogden and again against EWU, is no pushover. They also have to go to the dome at ISU, which is no picnic either. It's going to be Cat-Griz for all the marbles. Bobcats will win and we'll be Big Sky champs by ourselves.

GO CATS!
It's always a good day to be a Bobcat fan! :) =D^ \:D/

I remember making a similar post on the old ESPN site and basically being ignored. It was when the Cats, Griz, and ISU all ended up being tied for the title and the Cats won on the tie-break.

Can history repeat itself? I hope so.

How can this be true? If both the cats and PSU win out wouldn't PSU win the tie breaker due to a head to head win? I think the cats need help.

That is true, but saying we win out means that we are 8-3 and a lock for the playoffs.

I agree with the above posters. PSU still plays at UM, ISU and vs. Weber, not exactly an easy task.
