On October 2, 40 years ago (1965) the Bobcats went to Ogden riding high. The CATS were a conference favorite and had opened with impressive wins over South Dakota State and Wichita State University. Wichita was a D1 school playing in the old Missouri Valley Conference against people like Bowling Green and Louisville.
We were upset by Weber. The team flew back from Ogden Sunday where busses took them directly to the football practice field for an unusual Sunday morning "workout". Coach Sweeney was a little upset.
It seemed to untrack the whole year and the CATS lost the next three games by a total of 21 points!
Note to the BOBCATS...as you practice this week know there are around 90 determined Wildcats a couple of hundred miles south working their tails off getting ready to kick yours Saturday.
Take care of business!

This Weber game is bigger than the ISU game, and guess what, PSU game will be even bigger. At this point in the season, each game has the playoff hopes riding on them.
Take them one game at a time Cats, dont let up and dont overlook. I hope they go into Weber and see this game as a must win, do or die type attitude.

Losing to Cal Poly pretty much made every game a must win for playoff considerating, and I hope the players realize this.

The Bobcats are and should be in playoff mode. They should be very battle hardened from the nonconference schedule and should be ready to TAKE IT TO anyone in the Big Sky Conference. They need to go into every game with a big chip on their shoulders and remember what happened LATE last year! If they don't want that feeling again, then they need to get after it this weekend like their playoff lives depend on it (Which it does!). Pin the ears back and lets make this a very ONE SIDED CAT FIGHT!
