Internet Feed/On Field Interviews

Post by WolfPtCat » Sun Sep 25, 2005 4:50 pm

I saw the game via the Fargo TV station feed that was streaming on a Bison fan site. It was the best $5 I've spent in a long time. There is no excuse why the Sports Information Director and the Athletic Dept. as a whole can not provide this type of coverage for every MSU game. Heck, we have one of the top Engineering/Comp. Science Colleges in the country. Our students could get it up an running for almost no cost. I'm sure there are television rights issues, but we MSU should be able to figure out something.

I was surprised to hear all of you, as well as the Cat radio team, name Daly as the Defensive player of the game. I missed the audio or video coverage of his interception. It must have been a heck of a play. I don't usually watch with a critical eye, but Daly caught my attention throughout the game. I noticed him from the first quarter on miss many assignments (tackles and pass coverages). Nonetheless, congrats on the interception, but there is plenty of room for improvement.

Also, I thought the post game interview with Rick Gatewood was great. He said, in no uncertain terms, that he did not expect to see the Cats lose one single conference game. He didn't say it in a cocky way, he said it like he truly believed it. It is great to have a team leader with that kind of attitude.

Daly did miss a few assignments. But, as a freshman getting the start, he was all over the field yesterday. I think he got a few lessons on how college ball is that next level in speed and intensity as I saw him over pursue some plays only to have the ball carrier cut back in on him.

I definitely like the way he gets after it! Hopefully the learning comes quickly.

I didn't realize Daly was a freshman making his first start. Great job on making a big play to start the game off exactly how we needed it.

Daly is a freshman redshirt from Helena Capital who's dad played OG on the 1976 championship team. He walked on and I think has earned a scholarship.
