Here is a pretty good story about playing hockey outdoors and how the games have become trendy. I learned how to skate at Gibson Park in Great Falls and have loved it since. When I went to school in Bozeman, I skated on the several outdoor rinks there. Not sure if they keep it up any more. I remember playing a pick up hockey game at Bogert park and there was this one gal who could play just as good as the guys. Not that many played back then. Anyways it always brings back great memories. So I am continuing this tradition with my boys as we like to go to Lake Elmo, clear the ice and play a little hockey.

Re: Outdoor Hockey
They've started a pond hockey league up in Seeley Lake that is pretty cool. Once a year, they put on a big tournament (earlier this January). They play on three rinks, bring in lights, etc. It is right in the bay next to Lindey's restaurant. Really cool weekend.
I've picked up the hockey habit as an adult and it is a heckuva workout compared to most of the really popular adult league sports (softball, golf, darts, pool, bowling, etc.). I started at Bogart Park when I was at MSU too. Loved it. Pond hockey is really cool.

I think my cousins play in that tourney. I've heard it's a fun time.tdub wrote:They've started a pond hockey league up in Seeley Lake that is pretty cool.
